Default Scents in your wardrobe that suddenly become masterpieces?

An example is GIT. I've owned GIT for a couple years and while I enjoyed it and was glad I have it suddenly the other day I finally realized what all the fuss was about. I'm not sure what happened, did my bottle finally age enough, was it me, or something else? The creamy green lemony goodness was exponentially better than it had been before. I'm not talking about growing to appreciate a scent after multiple wearings but after thirty plus wearings.

Have any of you ever experienced this with any of your scents.

I have felt this way with Balafre over many wearings occurring over many years.

    Spooky.

My wife is responsible for getting me into fragrance. On our first trip together, she got me to check out Gentleman in Duty Free. I wondered how the hell anyone could have that smell follow them around all day. Now of course I love it (but I've gone for Giorgio Beverly Hills which I think is similar).

I used to think Egoiste was nothing special. Likeable but not wonderful. I even posted as much here, that I didn't get the hype and it was a case of community group think. It wasn't until much later that I realised that these days, finding a Sandalwood frag as good as Egoiste normally means going for something niche and expensive.

And I initially dismissed Guerlain Vetiver because it was more Tobacco than Vetiver to me. I was too focused on "does it smell of Vetiver" and not "does it smell great". And I've since developed a real liking for Tobacco notes.

I tend not to have anything in the wardrobe unless it is a masterpiece to my nose. That said, I add and remove stuff quite frequently.

Ones I won't be without though - MI by Creed, Homage Attar by Amouage and Sycomore by Chanel.
