Wise move But throw us a bone -- what kind of stuff are you interested in? Otherwise this just becomes "name a random fragrance" thread

    Bold and mild?

What kind of notes do you prefer? Leather? Woods? Sweet? Boozy? Bacon? Lemony?

Well, depending on price points, I might push you toward something like:

Amouage's Interlude Man (amber, woods, incense)
    Slumberhouse's Ore (cocoa, balsams)
Sonoma Scent Studio's Winter Woods (ambery woods)
Parfumerie Generale's Coze (whole bunch of stuff in this)
Serge Lutens' Borneo 1834 (semi sweet patch)

Those are bold scents, but my definition of sophisticated might not map onto yours.

No idea about the Versace one, but LDDM is not remotely sweet - to me, anyway.

Gaiac by Martine Micallef or ambre topkapi by MDCI. Both are sophisticated masculines without being mainstream like Aventus

I don't want something that's widely available as in Debenham and UK stores something a bit more classy. I also have Tom ford grey vetiver which I don't mind but the sm ll doesn't last that long

    Roullier White stock Slumberhouse products,

Les Senteurs stock Amouage, Parfumerie Generale, Serge Lutens.

    Bloom Perfumery stock Parfumerie Generale

All have postal sample services and stock a variety of interesting & unusual products - if you can visit them it would be easier but you may order samples.

I don't know any Sonoma Scent Studio stockists here 'though.

    terre's hermes
    david off coolwater
    dune
    ck obsesion

(thats the cheap edt stuff which now all kind of smell cheap too me so i dont wear them)

i currently have TOM FORD grey vetiver, but it doesnt last that long. i dont mind that smell... smells clean and fresh..

Have not tried Charles Street but Tuscan Leather is an excellent fragrance(Although the raspberry drydown is a bit much sometimes)

TBH, from reading basenotes, etc. I assumed everyone was already using Aventus anyway so it can't have ever been that unique.

I'll second the comment, bold AND mild? and put in another vote for LIDGE.

Why don't you just go to a shop and you know, smell the perfumes. Surely you can find something you like.
