    Default How is Pure Leather?

I don't see much talk about it and what I do see seems to say that it's not that great.

What makes it so bad? How similar is it to A*Men (which I really like, by the way)?

Basically, what are your thoughts on Pure Leather?

It's quite close to the regular, to the point that it's not clear it's worth buying it if one has already the regular. It's just a touch drier than the original, and, to me, equally good.

I own both, and don't find Pure Leather bad, per se, as much as it is redundant with the original.

Having said that, some folks find both of them brash and weird, so sampling would be recommended before picking up a bottle of either. I hated A*Men the first time I smelled it

Not bad - similar to original. Not as good as I was hoping for. Smells like a sneaker to me - rubber/leather

I didn't like it at all. I won't say disappointing because I didn't expect it to be good. Expectations met.

As mentioned above, past discussions on this board suggest it's similar to the original , minus the tar note.

Pure Leather is redundant and way too similar to original A*men - I think I posted something along those lines here when I first smelled it in Amsterdam five months ago, and passed on it for those reasons. In a Douglas store I sprayed Pure Leather and original on each hand, just to make sure.

Then I started regretting my decision after I left Amsterdam. I kept looking in other Douglas stores, but to no avail.

Then when I got home, I ordered it on Ebay.

And now - for reasons I cannot fathom - I reach for Pure Leather more often than I reach for the original, or Pure Malt, or Pure Havanae.

For some reason, I think it more wearable, and a less oriental/less party scent than the others.
    Regards,
    Renato

Interesting, I just picked up Pure Leather recently, but I could see myself wearing it more than the original. However, I wouldn't have guessed I'd wear it more than Pure Havane or Pure Malt. Maybe I'm missing something, I'll try them side-by-side soon and see what's up.
