    Hi, guys!

    ---------->Bond No9 West Side (EDP)<-----------

    No, guys! High expectations para West Side is not a great scent. Simply a scent that it isnīt nor bad nor good. The combination is cloying and to my nose, more feminine than manly. This would be a "yuck" scent to me during Summer, really!!! The reviews made me think this could be an interesting fragrance, in spite of the notes. However, this is a very sweet floral and musky combination.

    On my skin, this is not a clean scent as I was think it could be. Yes, there is a boozy smell here, that itīs the most interesting part. I know my nose can play tricks (or skin), but honestly, I donīt find it a quality scent. Today, the day was a bit cold and I found it cloying. Not my favorite type of combination, to be honest.

    I think, however, this may work on others, as this one can wear it during Fall, Winter and Spring (colder days).

    Disappointment.

    Hi, guys!

    ---------->Montale Red Aoud (EDP)<-----------

    The famous Red Aoud, finally. Ok, overall? Very good scent. Although not a WOW case in terms of scent (in fact, none of the Montaleīs fragrance I tested was), this is a very pleasant one. You have a unique fragrance with oud, red pepper, iris root, saffron, cumin, Haitian vetiver and Mysore sandalwood. Warm, spicy, woody with a nice rose with sweetness.

    I canīt see how some people say this is a clean scent. You have depth here, and contrary to Black Aoud, Red Aoud is smooth, not as intrusive as Black Aoud. You can sense easily Red Aoudīs presence without being hard for others to smell. Itīs kind of a powdery sweet oud, really. Today I got compliments, and this is a rare thing to happen. The opening is not as harsh as Black Aoud and the drydown is really good.

    Great performance, but the this is the type of scent that the colder the day the better. So, for me just for Winter and cold Fall days.

    Very good fragrance!

    Hi, guys!

    ---------->Bond No 9 Hamptons (EDP)<-----------

    Green Irish Tweed - Chez Bond

    Silver Mountain Water - x

    Lol Well, can you "calcute" x? Yes, that would be Hamptons. Bond No 9 Hamptons soon made me think: "Hey, this is very similar to Silver Mountain Water!". I must say that I do prefer SMW, and you can smell the difference. SMW has better quality and has that metallic vibe whereas Hamptons is more citrusy. They are, however, pretty similar. Lime blossom, bergamot, white jasmine, magnolia, amber, sandalwood are the notes, here. In spite of all, Hamptons is a very good fragrance. This stands between the best Bond No 9, so far. And this will be even better during Spring and Summer.

    For those who think SMW is a bit hard to wear because of the mettalic vibe, Hamptons manages to be easier and somehow smoother. Plus, although not feminine, itīs not as manly as SMW. Plus, I think this relates more to the beach/Summer than SMW. In fact, the latter is better form Spring, in my opinion. Contrary to what I was expecting, Hamptons perfomance is not better than SMW. On my skin itīs abot the same, and I must tell you that SMW was one of the best Creeds on this departament.

    A nice fresh very enjoyable scent from Bond No 9, although the originality is the worse part.

    Regarding Performance:

    Even being a great fragrance, it costs $265 (~€193), 100 ml, but since I prefer SMW and itīs a better fragrance, to me, Iīd buy the latter instead.

    Hi, guys!

    ---------->By Kilian Sweet Redemption (EDP)<-----------

    Well, Iīm must say Iīm not impressed with Sweet Redemption. Although with a nice scent, is quite far from other By Kilian fragrances Iīve smelt (Black to Black, A Taste of Heaven and Straight to Heaven). This is a balsamic "sweet-bitter" with floral vibe fragrance. Bergamot, Bitter-Orange Leaf , Orange Blossom, Myrrh, Frankincense, Opoponax, Benzoin and Vanilla make a nice blend. I canīt say this hasnīt quality, but I simply donīt have the "wow" factor, here.

    It was interesting to see that Sweet Redemption became stronger as the time went by. The opening is a bit...banal. Didnīt like it, really, but after some minutes the fragrance started to get better. You get a blast of orange blossom. The best part is the drydown, regarding scent. The best part of Sweet Redemption is performance.

    This is a all year round fragrance, in my opinion, although not wearable in any occasion.

    Not convinced, I must say.

    Regarding Performance:

    Uniqueness: 7.80
    Versatility: 8.10
    --- Overall: 8.17

    Black Afgano was one of the fragrances I was more excited to test. The reviews I read, all the hype, etc, led to believe this could be a WOW case. Ok, to me itīs not. Itīs not a bad fragrance, not that. Itīs incredible in terms of performance and it stands as one of the most unique fragrances I ever smelled. Black Afgano is very dark, dirty, opulent and quite pungent.

    This stuff is quite strong and you can smell quality. Smoky, earthy, woody, balsamic, very complex! Cannabis, Herbaceous notes, Resins, Woods, Coffee, Tobacco, Oud and Frankincense make a very unique and mysterious scent. It has some sweetness and sensuality at the same time. Itīs hard to wear, in my opinion. I can see many people disliking and not being able to wear this.

    Some will say: either you love it or hate it. Not me. I like this scent, donīt love it. Simply as that. I honestly, Iīm not sure if I would like to smell this on a woman. Itīs clearly masculine. Plus, I honestly can say Iīd use this on many occasions. This is clearly a fragrance for cold weather. Winter and for Fall cold days. Not a versatile fragrance, at all.

    Sounds like a nice alternative to SMW, would you advise others to buy this instead since itīs cheaper?

    Hi, Lem.

    Well, that depends. Itīs very relative, because there are many variables. Some will prefer Hamptons over SMW and vice-versa. They are really similar and in my opinion, but there are differences. Hamptons will suit women better, in my opinion. On my skin, the performance is about the same, so I canīt recommend one in specific. SMW is better in terms of scent, to me. However, Iīd say that Hamptons is a cheaper (not much, because you pay about $60 more for 20 ml) and for those who donīt want to pay that extra money, yes. However, since I prefer SMW, I say those $60 are justified for those who want to buy it.

    Makes total sense to me...

    When you start sampling with the intent of buying in that kind of price range, the saving of a few dollars is not going to be the deal breaker, the deal breaker is going to be which one you like the most, basically they fall into a similar price bracket.

    Hes not comparing Creed to Davidoff prices, Hes comparing Creed to Bond no 9. Both are already expensive to begin with whichever way you look at things...

    Hi, guys!

    ---------->Slumberhouse Pear&Olive(Parfum Extrait)<-----------

    This fragrance is very well blended, a unique combination. Massoia bark, olive, cognac, pear, Zdravets (geranium) and aglaia (mahogany) give us a quite pleasant scent, no doubt! With quality, I must say. Pear&Olive in spite of being linear is complex at the same time. The pear is natural and the cognac is very pleasant. Funny, because although coconut itīs not listed, I got a bit of a vibe of it. Personally, I donīt get some notes, but those three are noticeable.

    The problems I find here are that P&O can be a bit cloying sometimes but is curious to see that moments after in can also be a fresh scent. Plus, this leans toward feminine side.One thing is for sure: this is quality stuff and is unique! A different direction comparing with Jeke. This is quite strong but nevertheless, smooth. Almost "oily", sometimes. I wouldnīt wear this during Summer, no! Fall, Winter and Spring (avoid hotter days).

    A very nice fragrance from Sluberhouse!

    Regarding Performance:

    - Longevity: 14h
    - Sillage: Moderate to heavy
    - Projection: 4h

    Scent: 8.95
    Longevity: 9.35
    Sillage: 8.20
    Projection: 8
    Uniqueness: 8.25
    Versatility: 7.60
    --- Overall: 8.40

    Would I buy it? Not sure.

    Not sure, since I find it too feminine for me. Plus $125 (~€90), 30 ml, itīs not cheap, so Iīm not so sure. Not a priority for me.

    Hi, guys!

    ---------->Bond No 9 So New York (EDP)<-----------

    So New York is a very interesting fragrance with a great let down for me. This fragrance gets better as time goes by. The opening is nice, almost having a plum/citric vibe. Bond No 9 sites states that the notes of this fragrance are Mirabelle, “expresso” accord and cocoa powder. However, here we have:

    Top Notes
    Bergamot, Osmanthus, Mirabelle

    Middle Notes
    Expresso Accord, Patchouli, Walm Milk Accord, Muguet, Peony

    Base Notes
    Precious Woods, Tonka Bean, Musk, Cocoa Powder

    One thing is for sure, this scent is quite agreeable. One thing for is that this fragrance is all but linear. The drydown assumes the gorumandish nature of the fragrance and itīs very pleasant. The combination is indeed interesting. The fragrance gets smoother as time goes by. This would not be a good thing is projection was good. The let down of this fragrance is performance. I got about 2 h of projection tops.

    Overall, a nice fragrance that could be way interesting with a better projection.

    Regarding Performance:

    - Longevity: 9h
    - Sillage: Soft to moderate
    - Projection: ~2h

    Scent: 8.90
    Longevity: 8.25
    Sillage: 7.40
    Projection: 6.70
    Uniqueness: 7.85
    Versatility: 7.75
    --- Overall: 7.77

    Would I buy it? No.

    Wouldnīt buy a $265 (100 ml) with such bad projection and overall with a medium-low performance.

    ---------->Byredo Pulp (EDP)<-----------

    One word: WOW!!!!! I know that Byredo itīs not a house that many appreciate, but let me tell you, Pulp literally blew my mind! Itīs almost mouthwatering. Rotten fruit??? Where? Well, at least not on my skin! This is a type of fruity fragrance you wonīt smell every day. Bergamot, Blackcurrant, Cardamom, Fig, Red Apple, Tiare, Cedarwood, Praline, Peach Flower are the notes that together give you almost like a fruity/floral cocktail.

    The opening is juicy and lovely but the drydown is incredible! Although a fragrance suitable to Spring/Summer (mostly) it works very well even during hotter Fall/Winter days. And this is a little beast, even now during Winter. I can imagine this during Summer, although is think that this could be hard to stand, due to the litte-beast mode.

    This is the kind of perfume youīll get noticed. The woods balance somehow the sweetness of this vibrant fragrance. This was one of the fragrance I got instant compliments, with is rare. Women loved it and a guy complained about being too intense. Like I said, I see myself wearing this all year round, but this is a fragrance to wear in any occasion, though.

    Well, guess it all resumes to a matter of tastes! To each his own. Personally I donīt get any kind of rotten vibe and I do think the fragrance is unique. Great performance, also.

    Many think this house doesnīt justify the price for its quality. Bond No 9 has some nice/reasonable scents and in my opinion they are nothing of a kind in terms of quality. Yet, itīs away more expensive.

    So, maybe itīs kind of relative.

    ---------->Maison Francis Kurkdjian APOM pour Homme (EDT)<-----------

    Iīm a fan of Maison Francis Kurkdjian fragrance. APOM Pour Homme continues to show the distinct and delicate touch that he creates in some of his fragrances. First of all, although considered a man fragrance, this can be worn easily by any woman. This fragrance has three notes: Orange Flower, Cedar wood and Amber.

    Smooth but yet present, very pleasant and classy, APOM makes me think about being in an important event with class. In spite of having just 3 notes, the blend is very good as the combination. The orange blossom is very nice, well balance by amber and cedar wood. The fragrance is kind of linear, but very elegant, I must say.

    I was surprised to such a good longevity for an EDT. This fragrance is perfect for Spring and Summer, although I think one can wear it during Fall. Great for many occasions, although not a night out fragrance for bars. It will be easily be surpassed by other stronger fragrances.

    Would I buy it? Yes.

    This is overall a very nice and distinct fragrance, and costs €105 (~$145) for 75 ml, which I consider very interesting. Yes, I would buy it.

    This does indeed work on a female. My mother has a sample of this and wears it now and then. Personally i find it a little bit to feminine for my own tastes, but that doesnt take anything away from the fact that i respect this mans work. I no very little about fragrance but you can tell his stuff is decent, its just not my personal preference...

    Hi, DMA!

    I see what you mean. I have the same problem with Aqua Universalis Forte. Amazing scent, great performance, but nevertheless, clearly on the feminine side. Itīs a unisex fragrance, but APOM is for man. I can see this being easily an unisex one, also.

    Nevertheless, classy, with quality and very, very agreeable. Another great work of the master Maison Francis Kurkdjian!

    Indeed! I also love his signature and very distinct sweet scent bubble that his citruses leave. I no exactly where my mothers been standing in the house when shes been wearing AU, AU Forte, Apom and others...

    Hi, guys!

    ---------->By Kilian Amber Oud (EDP)<-----------

    Oh my!!! I found another love in this house. Amazing!!! Apart from Back to Black, this is now another favorite! Amber Oud really surprised me! First of alle let me tell you something: Iīm not a big fan of amber nor especially oud. However, due to the reviews, I decided to give it a try. Fortunately!

    Ok, let me start, then: Amber Oud knocked a bit in the opening. I got a bit of animalic vibe. Amber, oud, bay leaf, cedarwood and vanilla are the notes here. Funny to see that the oud is far from being prominent. In fact, I wondered: "Is there any oud, here?" The absense of oud is in fact not so bad for me. Benzoin is also listed as notes, although not in some websites. I get that vibe, here. I canīt pick the bay leaf, must confess.

    The dry down of Amber Oud is simply amazing! The vanilla comes and blends perfectly with amber and benzoin (?). The fragrance is sweet but not cloying, fortunately. Itīs funny to see that, sometimes, I got a Musc Ravageur vibe, or at least it reminded me a bit. The latter, in spite of being another incredible fragrance, itīs not so easy to wear, specially in the first hour.

    I got compliments, all from women. The fragrance is kind of strong but never offensive. In fact, after 2/3 hours it turns into an incredible smooth scent. Amber Oud is a fragrance for Fall and Winter, but easily wearable during Spring colder days. Although not a beast in terms of projection, the fragrance overall has a good performance.

    Amazing!

    Regarding Performance:

    - Longevity: 15h
    - Sillage: Moderate to Heavy
    - Projection: 3-4h

    Scent: 9.49
    Longevity: 9.50
    Sillage: 8.15
    Projection: 7.85
    Uniqueness: 8.25
    Versatility: 8
    --- Overall: 8.52

    Would I buy it? Not sure.

    This is a very expensive fragrance. $395 for 50 ml!!! Sadly Iīd have to think about spending so much money for 50 ml. I do think the fragrance is incredibly. Could have better projection, but this juice is really incredible. Iīd love to have this, but the price goes to prohibited values.

    Glad you dropped the Pear + Olive-thing... It took me about a month to get to understand the Byredo though. It's as fruity as one can get but I don't think it's that wearable/versatile IMO. I can't imagine it will stay at the top of your list. That said, tastes differ!!

    Enjoy your sampling!

    Hey, TLS!

    Agreed, not that versatile, considering others, but in spite of being a Spring/Summer scent, I can see me wearing it during hotter Fall/Winter days. Not suitable for all occasions, I agree, but not as non-versatile as LDDM , Jeke, Pear&Olive, Black Afgano or Interlude man.

    To be on top, fragrance requires more than simply versatility, thatīs why the assessment is done regarding several parameters.

    And youīre right, buddy. To each his own.

    Take care.

    Enjoyed reading your take on Pear + Olive as I feel almost the same way about it. It definitely alters between fresh and uplifting, and cloying and oily. It's absolutely beautiful, but at times just a bit too feminine. And a lot of people pick of on the coconut too. Apparently it's the massaoi bark that has that effect.

    And now I'm very interested in checking out Pulp. I see a blind buy in the future....

    Hi, guys!

    ---------->Creed Jardin DīAmalfi (EDT)<-----------

    One word again: WOW!!! What a scent! Such quality, really! What is D&G Light Blue compared to this?!! Similar? A bit, but so much better than the latter! I love citrusy scents. Here we have an incredible one. The opening is a wonderful blast of citrus. Amalfi tangerine, Sicilian lemon, Bergamot, Pink berries, Neroli, Virginia cedarwood, French apple, Bulgarian rose, Haitian vetiver, White musk and Cinnamon are the notes of this beauty.

    Several sites state that Jardin DīAmalfi, from the Royal Exclusives line, is a unisex fragrance, although it for woman. I tell you, I have no problem at all wearing this, as I say any man can wear it. The citruses are simply stunning, as well as neroli and rose are. The French apple is also great, here, helping to give the fruity vibe. You can pick it up easily. Works wonderfully with the Bulgarian rose.

    And let me tell you something, in spite of being an EDT, this is strong and with an interesting performance!!! The first 4 hours are not faint, believe me. This is a bright, clean and natural. This combination gives me the best Summer scent Iīve smell ever. Until now, Bergamote 22 was my favourite citrusy/Summer scent, but Jardin DīAmalfi is better, and believe me, Iīm crazy about Bergamote 22! The latter is better in terms of longevity. It can last almost a day on my skin and the projection is better.

    Ok, Jardin DīAmalfi is a Spring/Summer scent, very wearable. Not an all year round fragrance, maybe possible during the first Fall hotter days.

    Truly amazing!

    Regarding Performance:

    - Longevity: 12-13h
    - Sillage: Moderate to Heavy
    - Projection: 4-5h

    Scent: 9.75
    Longevity: 9.25
    Sillage: 8.35
    Projection: 8.35
    Uniqueness: 8.70
    Versatility: 7.90
    --- Overall: 8.72

    Would I buy it? Yes.

    Ok, 30 ml of this beauty costs €170 (~$245) and 250 ml about €500 (~$695). Yes, itīs really expensive, but this juice justifies it, in my opinion. So, yes, Iīd buy it.

    Not too feminine, in my opinion. Although a womanīs fragrance, some sites point it as unisex. Iīm that kind of guys thatīs not like those who state one should wear what we want. Usually I donīt wear feminine scents or scent leaning toward the feminine side, but I must say I have no problem wearing Jardin DīAmalfi.

    Since you have a bit of D&G Light Blue vibe, people not having good or educated noses (which is perfectly acceptable) may think: "This guys is wearing a womanīs fragrance", but thereīs no comparison whatsoever, believe me.

    Yes, Pulp was just #1 for about 2 days.
