    Hello, guys!

    ---------->Maison Francis Kurkdjian Oud (EDP)<-----------

    Maison Francis Kurkdjian gives me mixed feelings! This may be a difficult an unusal scent for some, mostly the opening. However, in my opinion this scent is absolute and strangely wonderful, but only ON PAPER. It´s something as a never smelled before. Oud, saffron, pathouli and cedar. The opening has a medicinal “vibe”, but is strangely beautiful. In fact, the opening initially made me think “WOW”! The drydown it to die for, in spite of lealing to the feminine side, in my opinion. These are the good news.

    The bad news are that, SADLY, on my skin, this beauty turns into a sweet but cheap perfume scent! This was such a disapointment! In fact, I felt kind of unfortable during the morning and the rest of the day. Plus, I was a bit unluky. People rarely comment the scents I use, but today, during a meeting at work, after lunch, one female colleague asked: “Hey, who´s wearing cheap chinese woman perfume?” So, that colleague of mine, end up looking at me, came to sniff my neck and said: “Naughy, naughy! You have to buy quality perfumes to your lovers!” Well, I ended up laughing, but in fact, she was right about saying that the scent wasn´t good. This isn´t the first time that an oud based fragrance (with woods) smells cheap on my skin. The same happened with Tom Ford Oud Wood.

    Apart from this, the fragrance has a good performance. I just wish that, on my skin, the scent was close to the one I smelled on paper. So, unfortunately, I must judge the scent, uniqueness and versatility, based on my skin, and not on paper.

    Regarding Performance:

    Longevity: 9
    Sillage: 8
    Projection: 8
    Uniqueness: 6
    Versatility: 7
    --- Overall: 7.33

    Would I buy it? No.

    Sadly, I wouldn´t pay $270(~€195) – 70 ml, for a fragrance that has such a smell on my skin.

    Hi, guys!

    ---------->Bond No 9 Brooklyn (EDP)<-----------

    Well, Brooklyn is one of the most famous Bonds. Simply putting, this is very nice fragrance, and that´s it. Not a WOW case for me. Brooklyn opening is fresh (grapefruit) and reminds me a bit of Bvulgari Man. This is a pleasant wood aromatic spicy and sophisticated scent. It´s also unique. Cardamom, Cypress, Juniper Berrie, Cedarwood, Leather and Guaiac wood, make a pleasant combination, I must say. Although being a unisex frag, this leans clearly toward the masculine side. The best part here are the middle and the base notes, in my opinion.

    I can see this fragrance being a all year round one, although it´ll suit better Spring, Summer and Fall.

    Interesting one.

    Hi, guys!

    ---------->Kerosene R´Oud Elements (EDP)<-----------

    This is a great fragrance for those who don´t like Oud too much (I´m included). An unique fragrance that John Kerosene created. Oud, sandalwood, lavender, bitter Orange, amber are some of the notes, here. The combination is really agreeable. It´s strong but non offensive, being highly enjoyable. Very weel blended, with quality ingredients. I´d say this is of of the easiest oud fragrances to wear. My complain? I wish projection was better. So far, I must say that I´m becoming a fan of John Kerosene´s fragrances.

    This fragrance is perfect for Fall, although it´d be also great for Winter.

    Ok, I think this may be a love or hate fragrance. Guess what? I love it! This is Summer in a bottle! Great notes, here. Margarita mix, lime, melon guava, cinnamon, caramel, vanilla, cedarwood (I don´t get the chocolate, to be honest). This is great! The opening although sharp and strong is very pleasant, citrusy, boozy with salty hints. The dry down, although different (sweet and woody) is also very, very good. This is quite unique that has a beach vibe. For some this could be hard to wear, but not for me. I really enjoyed wearing this, even now, during Winter.

    This fragrance is clearly for Summer, although I would use it easily during hot Spring days. It´s fairly unisex. In spite of being strong at the beggining, it begins to fade away about 2 h later, although it projects nicely for about 3h. I´m sure that during Summer it will be quite different.

    Overall, another great choice for Summer! Love this.

    Hi, guys!

    ---------->Hermessence Vetiver Tonka (EDT)<-----------

    This is great!!! So far, the best vetiver fragrance I´ve smelt! Jean-Claude Ellena made a masterpiece. You can smell real quality, here. The tobacco, tonka bean, praline and hazelnut are great. Very well blended, this fragrance is strong, but nevertheless, smooth and warm. It opens with a strong vetiver smell, sweetned soon after. Other good think Vetiver Tonka has is the fact of being not TOO sweet. It isn´t cloying.

    Although perfect for Fall, I guess I could include this beauty in the all year round group.

    The combination is very, very good.This is a beautiful elegante fragrance! I wish it could project even better and last more.

    One word: disappointment! I expected more from this house. This scent is quite common. Unisex? No way! This smells like a good after shave, kind of a strong barber shop vibe (specially the opening! I can´t see any woman wearing this. Overall, this is a woody and spicy aromatic scent. Spices, cognac, vetiver, patchouly , cashmere, lavender, myrrh are some of the notes present. Although the dry down has a floral accord, overall I can´t see this as a unisex scent. It´s fresh and clean, but honestly, quite common (at least on my skin).

    The best part of this fragrance is projection. Best for Fall/Winter, although it could be use all year round.

    This is the first woman´s fragrance of this part. And what a way to start. Violet Chocolatier is really gorgeous! A quality, unique, beautiful and complex scent! The composition and blend of this fragrance are awesome. Very well blended! Chocolate covered Apricots, Cocao Absolute, Nutmeg, Hazelnut, Violet, Magnolia, Jasmine, Rose, Honey, Gardenia, Amber, Benzoin are some of the notes, here. Violet and Cacao are dominant, nevertheless.

    I decided to wear this perfume during the weekend, when I could be most of the time with my girlfriend. She immediately said: "Hey, that scent is great! What´s that? Why are you wearing a woman fragrance?" I told her this was another one that I was testing. She promptly said: "This is really good. I want to try it too.". She sprayed her wrists, soon after.

    The performance is good, and I can see this perfume a all year round case. Great for Winter and Fall, it will also be great during cold Spring days. Very versatile.

    Awesome fragrance!

    ---------->Byredo Bal D´Afrique (EDP)<-----------

    Ok, I know some will expect me to say that Bal D´Afrique is similar to Vetiver Tonka. And the truth is that in fact, the dry down has the same vibe. However, Bal D´Afrique is more citrusy and fruity. So, to make clear: I really like this! The combination is beautiful. Woody, floral and citrusy, with some sweetness, Bal D´Afrique it´s sophisticated, light, smooth, elegant and light. It is very well blended.and has quality. African Marigold, neroli, lemon, bergamot, cedarwood, vetiver, amber, are some of the notes.

    In my opinion, any man can wear this scent, although I think it leans a bit to the feminine side. The only complain I have is performance. It could be stronger. Although best for Spring/Summer, I´d wear this fragrance all year round.

    Regarding Performance:

    - Longevity: ~10h
    - Sillage: About moderate.
    - Projection: ~3h

    Scent: 9.28
    Longevity: 8.80
    Sillage: 7.80
    Projection: 7.50
    Uniqueness: 8.35
    Versatility: 8.15
    --- Overall: 8.30

    Would I buy it?Yes!

    €140 (~$193),100 ml is an interesting price. Although not as good as Vetiver Tonka, this fragrance is very interesting, as I´d buy it.

    ---------->Bond No 9 Chinatown (EDP)<-----------

    Chinatown is a unique, sophisticated, elegant, very agreeable scent. Although being floral, with a spicy and fruity vibe, there´s some sweetness in this scent. It´s not a gourmand, but there´s something sweet here (peach blossom maybe). Peach blossom, tuberose, gardenia, cardamom and patchouli are the notes of Chinatown. Bond No 9 did a great fragrance. This is wonderful.

    I can see know why Lem wrote he was curious to see my review about this fragrance. Chinatown is a really, really beautiful for...women. This is simply gorgeous, but not for me. Projection could be better, also. All year round fragrance, in my opinion.

    Oh my!!! This is amazing! What a wonderful scent! I LOVE this fragrance! This is a masterpiece! This is a heavenly tonka and almond based scent, with a great note of tobacco and some woods (cedar and pine). Bergamot, rosemary, jasmine and frankincense are also present. Very aromatic,Tonka Imperial is strong, but smooth, warm, sensual, elegant...and with great quality! Pure Havane vibe? Maybe a bit, but this is incomparably better! Beautifully blended, indeed. I must say that so far, Ambre Narguille was my favorite gourmand, but now I´m not so sure. Vetiver Tonka is more elegant, in my opinion.

    Ok, I wish this lasted even more and that projected even better! That´s the only complaint I have! Some say this leans toward the feminine side, and I do agree, but I can see a man wearing this with no problem. I´d use this in various occasions, I must say. I´d avoid using this during Summer, nevertheless, as during hot Spring days.

    Beautiful fragrance!

    Another beautiful fragrance! Gold Leather is an unique and modern leather scent. Leather and oud accord, rum, saffron, plum, davana, bitter orange and woods (eucalyptus, gaiac wood, cedar) are wonderfully blended. The opening is great, sharp and a bit harsh, but beautiful. The dry down is simply amazing! I do thing that Gold Leather is somehow easier to wear than Tuscan Leather, although the latter is better in terms of performance. It´s also not a linear fragrance. This boozy leather is really something! The only "hiccup" I think this fragrance has is the fact that after 3-4h, it sticks really close to the skin, in spite of lasting for about 10 h more. I didn´t detect any eucalyptus, but once more, it may be my nose.

    This was a great way to start with Atelier Cologne. Although easier to wear than Tuscan Leather, Gold Leather may be not easy to everybody´s nose, especially in the first 30 min. Using this fragrance during Summer (or even Spring) is unthinkable, to me. This is clearly a cold weather scent. Perfect for Fall and Winter, but even then, not suitable for any occasion.

    Hello, guys!

    ---------->Bond No 9 Chez Bond(EDP)<-----------

    I knew I was going to test one more fragrance (apart from Cool Water) similar to Green Irish Tweed. So, ending the suspense: Is this better than Cool Water? Yes, it is! Is this better than Green Irish Tweed? No, it is not. And why´s not? Well, first of all, strangely, the performance is not so good. Then, simply because I prefer Green Irish Tweed. Instead of GIT, Chez Bond is not as woody and/or powdery, at least on my skin. GIT is greener/floral and woody and Chez Bond more citrusy with tea accord. The base notes are very different, that´s the part that makes both fragrances really different. Chez Bond´s notes are sparkling citrus tones, leafy greens, herbal tea accord, violet leaves, vetiver, cedarwood and sandalwood. Although there are similarities, Chez Bond, somehow is not as manly as GIT (maybe it´s my skin...).

    Plus, GIT is more versatile. Chez Bond is basically a fragrance I´d wear for Spring/Summer or for the hotter Fall days. I could wear GIT almost all year round.

    Still, Chez Bond is a very interesting and unique fragrance.

    Regarding Performance:

    - Longevity: ~9h
    - Sillage: About moderate
    - Projection: 3h

    Scent: 9.20
    Longevity: 8.60
    Sillage: 7.80
    Projection: 7.60
    Uniqueness: 8.20
    Versatility: 8
    --- Overall: 8.23

    Would I buy it?No.

    Why should I buy a fragrance that costs $260 (~€190), 100 ml, when I could have GIT for about the same price? GIT is about $290 (€218) for 120 ml, and is the better in most of the aspects.

    I guess at the end you won't buy all the bottles you said "yes"... What are you going to do when your sampling ends?

    Hey, TLS!

    Like I said before, the "Would I buy it?" parameter doesn't´t mean that I WILL buy those fragrances. It´s merely another assessment parameter. Nothing more.

    When my sampling ends? Are you referring to a possible pt.4?

    Maybe haha! No, which bottles are you going to buy from your yes-list?

    Well, like I said my idea is to stop with pt.3, but I´m not saying that a pt.4 won´t be possible.

    Not sure, yet. I´ll let you know in the end of this part. 35 days to go!

    I´ll post Kerosene Pretty Machine opinion later.

    This is an awesome thread. Pt.2 is an awesome thread.
    How do I go about finding PT.1? There's a couple of scents in there I really want to read up on... Is it in Huddler?

    I know what you mean, I have about 130 samples I'm going thru, and created a wish list here after I sample. I already plan on buying decant's and samples of the one's I like and some with full bottles. I already have about 25 full bottles in my collection.

    Hello, guys!

    ---------->Kerosene Pretty Machine(EDP)<-----------

    Pretty Machine is a nice clean, citrusy floral scent. Once again, you can smells quality here. Bergamot, Lemon, Lime, Neroli, Linden Blossom, Orange Blossom, Jasmine, Rose, Vetiver and Musk are the notes. The opening it´s citrusy, bright, pungent and fresh an you get kind of a linden tree breeze. Although it seems not complex, I find it a bit. I can´t detect vetiver here. The dry down is a bit "sweeter", although this fragrance is far from being sweet. The florals come in, jasmine and rose.

    Although considered as a unisex fragrance, to my nose, it leans a bit toward the feminine side. I do think that can any man can wear it. This fragrance is perfect for Spring (mostly) and Summer. It´s easy to wear and fairly versatile.

    Nice choice for Spring/Summer.

    Regarding Performance:

    - Longevity: ~11h
    - Sillage: Moderate
    - Projection: 3h

    Scent: 8.26
    Longevity: 8.90
    Sillage: 8
    Projection: 7.60
    Uniqueness: 8
    Versatility: 7.50
    --- Overall: 8.04

    Would I buy it?Maybe.

    This fragrance costs $140 (~€102), 100 ml. The price is quite nice, in my opinion. This is a bit too feminine for me but nice for my girlfriend. So I probably would buy it for her.

    Hello, guys!

    ---------->Nasomatto Black Afgano(EDP)<-----------

    Black Afgano was one of the fragrances I was more excited to test. The reviews I read, all the hype, etc, led to believe this could be a WOW case. Ok, to me it´s not. It´s not a bad fragrance, not that. It´s incredible in terms of performance and it stands as one of the most unique fragrances I ever smelled. Black Afgano is very dark, dirty, opulent and quite pungent.

    This stuff is quite strong and you can smell quality. Smoky, earthy, woody, balsamic, very complex! Cannabis, Herbaceous notes, Resins, Woods, Coffee, Tobacco, Oud and Frankincense make a very unique and mysterious scent. It has some sweetness and sensuality at the same time. It´s hard to wear, in my opinion. I can see many people disliking and not being able to wear this.

    Some will say: either you love it or hate it. Not me. I like this scent, don´t love it. Simply as that. I honestly, I´m not sure if I would like to smell this on a woman. It´s clearly masculine. Plus, I honestly can say I´d use this on many occasions. This is clearly a fragrance for cold weather. Winter and for Fall cold days. Not a versatile fragrance, at all.

    Regarding Performance:

    - Longevity: ~20h
    - Sillage: Heavy to enormous
    - Projection:7h

    Scent: 8.00
    Longevity: 9.70
    Sillage: 9
    Projection: 8.60
    Uniqueness: 9.50
    Versatility: 6
    --- Overall: 8.47

    Would I buy it? Yes.

    This fragrance costs $165(~€120), 30 ml. It´s expensive. Although this is not a perfume I´d wear frequently, I find it a real peace of art as I certainly would like to have it on my collection.

    Hello, guys!

    ---------->Imaginary Authors Memoirs of a Trespasser(EDP)<-----------

    "Each Imaginary Authors fragrance follows a compelling storyline peppered with intriguing twists." Imaginary Authors house concept of making fragrances is really nice. Memoirs of a Trespasser engines on a great story. “Who needs love when you have cognac?” is really a great motif to a fragrance that´s kind of exotic and adventurous.

    Madagascar Vanilla, Guaiacwood, Myrrh, Benzoin Resin, Ambrette Seeds and Oak Barrels are the notes. This is woody and smoky vanilla scent, with nice benzoin and myrrh. Memoirs of a Trespasser easily sends you to somewhere in the past. It´s sweet, but completely gourmandish. It´s smoky, but not too dark. It has some kind of nostalgic/mysterious vibe. It´s smooth and warm.

    I find quality here and the combination is very good. Well blended, also. This may be not a scent for everybody, although I think it´s fairly easy to wear. I would use this on any season other than Fall or Winter. Not a scent to wear at work, in my opinion. Good performance, overall.

    Hi, guys!

    ---------->Slumberhouse Jeke (Parfum Extrait)<-----------

    Really excited to start with Slumberhouse fragrances. And let me tell you, this one is a challenging one. This is a dark, dirty "smoky" tobacco based scent, with woods/leather vibe and a faint sweetness. Complex and believe me, this is not for the faint of heart. The first 30 min can be hard, but after that, Jeke softens and turns into an agreeable scent. It´s linear. You kind also get a vibe of a campfire, somehow.

    Benzoin, patchouli, tobacco, lapsang souchong, vanilla and cloves are the notes of this fragrance. Jeke stands among the most unique fragrances I know. The performance is great, indeed. I do think this is a love/hate fragrance and today feedback supported my opinion. Usually people don´t comment the fragrances I wear but today I had two haters and one lover.

    Jeke´s problem is versatilty. I find this is a work of art, really, but hard to wear. Job, date, formal are simply to forget. I wouldn´t use this during any season besides Winter and/or cold Fall days. However, I must say: you smell real quality. Overall, this is a great fragrance, with the cons of versatility.

    Regarding Performance:

    - Longevity: ~17h
    - Sillage: Heavy
    - Projection: 5h

    Scent: 8.80
    Longevity: 9.65
    Sillage: 8.60
    Projection: 8.50
    Uniqueness: 8.75
    Versatility: 5
    --- Overall: 8.22

    Would I buy it? Possibly.

    $125 (~€90) for 30 ml is expensive. Although not a priority, I think I could buy it for my colection for the art creation it is.
