A bit of a gamble, but I blind bought a vintage 100ml bottle of Rochas Moustache edt concentree.

I really love eau sauvage, Chanel PM (1955) and concentree (1989), YSL PH, and PH haute. I figured moustache need to be with them in my collection. Very excited about this one.

I've been on a Serge Lutens tear lately. Blind buying this line is not risky, I haven't found one less than four stars out of five yet.

Thanks Arj! Yeah I quite like this one. The drydown on me has a white chocolate vibe, which I really like. It's not strong on projection but it's persistent on the skin and will release as the body heats up. I think it's a very complex and beautiful juice. Not among my favorites yet, but it might grow on me even more

Thanks man!) Acqua Di Colonia is basically the top notes of Uomo - a bit more lime and neroli but very much in common.
Uomo's drydown is sandalwood and vetiver heavy whilst the AdC ends up with white musk. Love them both.

I went to Neimans on Michigan Ave to pick up a pair of shoes for my fiance, and something made me sneak into Saks across the street. I haven't been to that location in years. I used to go to the one in the burbs, but that one closed down a couple years ago.

So what do i see within the first 10 steps of me entering the doors?

Dior Prive! I had no clue at all it was at Saks! Fully represented!

This was already a major problem and i had only been in the store for 5 minutes. I had to get Oud Ispahan. I've been meaning to order a bottle of it since i've been out for a few months. They still have a few bottles of Mitzah and Vetiver.
I did a quick spin around to see if they had the D&G Prive line (which is why i cam in originally). Unfortunately i couldn't find it, and didn't have time to ask anyone.

I must say, Saks has really stepped their game up. I was greeted with a smile everywhere i turned, and my bag was FILLED with samples.

Meanwhile, right before i went into Saks, i was across the street at Neimans picking up shoes for my fiance and had to practically BEG someone to take the $1000 i was waiving around in my hand.
GOD FORBID you break up a conversation between employees. I'm really getting sick of Neimans.

So that was my unexpected and very pleasant surprise!

I'm going back for Ambre Nuit hopefully thursday!

Thanks. Did you ever get a bottle or at least sample it? This was one of those "hidden gem" fragrances of the past, IMHO. Poorly marketed (there was a major "miss the mark" campaign for it with Liza Minnelli) and subsequently discontinued after not too much time. It's so unfortunate when this happens, but then again... it leaves an opportunity for buried treasure to be unearthed some decades later. Of course, assuming it was cared for. I imagine a lot of vintage fragrances end up deteriorated due to poor storage conditions.

Oh I definitely sampled it back then. It went away before I got a chance to buy a bottle and until your mention of it in this thread, I had completely forgot about it. That said, one look at that bottle and the memories all came pouring back. I'll now have to seek out the bottle I overlooked all those years ago.

Shops on Michigan Ave. for the most part are pure snobbery at its finest and yes this is a complete generalization. Some places are great...but that's just the general vibe I get...the whole...I DGAF if we get your piddly $200...$300. Ridiculous. Ok, ok done w/ my rant. That's about the only thing I envy you guys in the snow country... Our winters are a chilly 70-80F degree days, and don't last more than a month, hardly long enough to pull out some of my favorite winter bottles. :-(

Amouage Reflection Man. I owned a bottle and sold it going to give it a second try. Now I just need Fate Man to complete the Men's line.

Interesting with the bottle cap. It looks like a revival of an older design they used, most prominently for the Verte d'Orange line. I recently saw a bottle of "Bel Ami" with this cap shape, versus the other more recent modernized one that is used across the Hermessence line, thinking it was an interim shape after the martini shaker.

Deep breath...drumroll...Invasion Barbare, non-bust 75 ML edition! I think I'll use this one a lot. Also ordered a bunch of free samples from luckyscent with my order. I made $320 from selling so I had the cash to make this (for me) extravagant purchase.
