Jon, I love how the twisted columns in your photo are mirrored in the graphic design for the Corso di Como packaging.

    Jujy54, I love your signiature!

I woke up to a really bad surprise, my puppy sneaked my glasses of my nightstand and completely chewed them up.
I am devastated, I can't see without gasses, can't even walk around my own home, and I can't my lenses all day.
And glasses are very expensive they need to be specially cut and it will take a minimum of three weeks to get new ones.

I am wearing an old EdT Miss Balmain, inspired by Kumquat yesterday. It is off in the topnotes, and I never liked as well as the extrait, but a broken fragrance fits my broken day

Woke up sleepy, but I've got a whole day ahead of me so I'm jumping right out of bed and landing on my feet. In the mood for sandalwood so it'll be one of my bracing, gentlemanly favorites:

Frou Frou, sounds like a story for dogshaming.com (a very cute website).

I applied Nanadebary Green two days in a row, but having just read yesterday's SotD, I was compelled to dot my knuckle with some vintage Miss Balmain edt.

Daughter took her dad out to run errands, so I am alone in a very quiet house. Most peculiar. May go join the dog back in bed with the Kindle for entertainment.

    Hello everyone!

Jon, thanks! I am excited to get the Arpege and test it out. Even if I don't love it, I will still enjoy the beautiful little bottle!

Froufrou, oh no! What a bad, bad boy!! I LOVE the dog shaming picture you made of him, though. Sooo cute, even if he did a rotten thing! My dog once chew up a custom night guard; that was an expensive chew toy. Dogs can be such rotten little turkeys sometimes! As far as getting new glasses, getting glasses here in the US should be easy. I have always gotten mine from the chain/bargain type places that make them the same day - last time I got glasses, I got my eyes checked, picked out my glasses, ordered them and got them the same day; they were designer and I got them and a pair of RX sunglasses in designer frames for about $300 total. Then again, I know plenty of people who would never go to a chain eyeglass store and would rather pay $400 a pair somewhere like their eye doctor's office. Good luck!

Jujy, I am rooting for spring with you! I broke out some En Passant for the day. I only have a sample but I absolutely love it and need to get a decant of this one - it's such a quiet scent, I want to spray with abandon.

ErinK, Thanks, I will start checking some places tomorrow, they are all closed on sundays. My glasses ahve to be specially made, and it will take 3 to 4 weeks. I broke a lens on my wedding morning and been to several opticians here in Dallas, and nobody could ahve them before 3 weeks at the minimum, and then I was flying back to Holland, but that was only one lens, this time the lenses and the frame are completely demolished.
I saw that lovely bottle of Arpège on auction, glad you got it!

FrouFrou; l sympathise, my glasses are pretty specialised too, & this would be a disaster for me also. l'd just have to walk around in my prescription sunglasses for a month instead. That's one hell of a cute dog, though!

Erin; l love that pic. l have been known to get completely distracted by the scent of a lilac bush, & ended up with my nose stuffed into the blossoms, instead of going wherever it was l was meant to be going. l totally understand why she's forgotten her parasol.

Teardrop, thanks! It is an autochrome; I'm not sure when the particular photo was taken but probably 100 years ago. I got obsessed with autochromes when I discovered them. I had no idea color photographs existed from the early 1900s and I fell in love with the beautifully surreal color images of subjects now long gone. Your comment about getting distracted with your nose in a lilac bush made me smile - so cute!

Froufrou, oh my, four weeks is a long time to wait. Fingers crossed for you that you can get some sooner than that!

It's a pleasant 60 here and our snow is gone (!!!) and I'm celebrating with sparkly green Chanel No. 18 this afternoon.

Hee, I was thinking that looked like a real period photograph! I wanted to ask but was too obsessed with the glasses thing. I have lenses but can't wear them all day. I will be going to bed very early for the next time!
That was a beautiful photograph. There are lots of lilac bushes close to where my horse used to live in the Netherlands, And I would spend long times in spring with my nose in the flowers

It's horribly cold and wet ere, no fun.

Mm hmm. It's one of the Les Exclusifs and supposedly in an interview Jacques Polge said it was his favorite of the line. No Chanel aldehydes in this one, rather, it's an unusual green scent based around the ambrette seed. It's crisp like a vodka tonic. If I didn't know it was a Chanel I'd never think, "Hey, I bet that's a Chanel," and that's one of the things I like so much about No. 18. I don't wear it a lot, but sometimes you want something that smells sort strange but somehow like a skin scent at the same time and this is one of those for me.

Oh dear, FrouFrou, that is really bad news!
Think about having a spare pair made in case there is another crisis. I'm thinking of ordering a spare pair for my mother "just in case".

I've spent the day wearing a luscious scented body cream; it reminds me somewhat of Laura Ashley No. 1 with its carnation and hyacinth. It's discontinued but shows up on eBay: Imaginez La Provence Sunflower.
