This is very easy for me. Colonia Intensa Oud from Acqua di Parma.
I have searched so long for a good niche fragrance.
    I'm addicted to it.

MDCI Chypre Palatin immediately comes to mind.

Not sure I'd call it the best, but HdP Petroleum is by far the most unique and striking. For wearing, I am quite intrigued by le Labo Ylang.

I don't know if it's the best (what would that mean?), but one of my favorites is Roja Dove Fetish Extrait.

Several come to mind. Royal Oud, Spice and Wood, are among the top.

Chypre Palatin rates pretty high for me. It gets a bit tiresome after a while and the extended duration has a certain 'smugness' about it that it shares with M and Diaghilev, but that seems to be popular these days.

I also rate it's sister scent, Seville a l'Aube (Duchaufor was working on this at the same time) for men who enjoy orange flower styled colognes or EDTs - it has an incredible space around it that feels like could have been made a decade or three ago - before all the good stuff was restricted. I prefer it to Penhaligon's Castile and other masculine orange flower styled stuff I have worn in the past - it's in a different league altogether.

Mito EDP is another good one. It brings to mind Eau de Guerlain but has the concentration and complexity to extend that citrus / verbena with a touch of moss accord by packing in what I read as galbanum, lemongrass, a hint of thai Basil or ginger and then rather than a chypre base there's some benzoin, so it has a warmer backend, tending towards an oriental drydown (a bit like what Duchaufor did with Chypre Palatin).

Diaghilev is very nice initially but then gets a bit too luxe for it's own good IMO, but I guess with so many ingredients off the table now this is the 'smooth' nu-chypre approach if you don't overplay the patchouli route - more or less the same as M and Fetish altho they have the benefit of a bit of leather to play with.

Dries van Noten, Volutes EDT and Tam Dao EDP also strike me as excellent releases - I have been wearing them a lot.

If we consider some of the more hard to get Guerlains as niche then Songe d'un Bois d'Ete would have to rank as one of the most outstanding releases of the last 3, 5 even 10 years

Possibly fudging a bit on the three-year window, but:

    Memoir Man
    Absolue Pour Le Soir
    Leather Oud

    (I guess 2010 was a good year.)

Not exactly sure of the time frame....for me it has been Memoir Man Leather Oud and Tuscan Leather. I have a couple of things on the way....Invasion Barbare, Chypre Palatin and Acqua Di Parma Oud to try...so next week may be different, I should mention Dior Vetiver was probably tied for third.

Wow, that took until post #5, that's a surprise..

A lot of the ones I thought of immediately are actually listed as unisex, so that skews my answer. However, my vote is also for AdP Colonia Intensa Oud.

    Really good juice.
