Default Lapidus PH, how does it compare to...

    vintage Acteur
    D&G made in Italy
    Interlude Man
    Sung Homme
    Aventus
    Code

Own and like these, would like to know how the sweetness, smokiness, powder, tobacco, rose, opening pineapple, etc compares. Might blind buy an ounce since it is so cheap, but maybe not.

Also, Zino. A script lettered bottle is on the way, but it was also a blind buy at a good enough price that the online comments made it appear worth a shot. Wondering if there could be any redundancy with rose into patch+sandalwood bases.

I feel Lapidus PH is not as sweet as Acteur but is smokier and has a stronger tobacco note. Longevity has fine longevity.

As one would expect from its name.

To me, vintage LPH is one of the best scents ever made! However, I would not consider wearing the new version - it's that bad (IMO). It's not like any of those you mentioned (or it could be like all of them, if you don't understand notes, etc.), but rather it is in line with complex masculines of that period (such as Halston Limited, Ho Hang Club, or VIP by GoBH). However, the odd but excellent pineapple note is unique among the others; many probably would simply equate it with Old Spice, call it "old man," and not think twice about it. So, I think vintage LPH should be considered what I have called an aficionado scent.

Lapidus Pour Homme is a projection beast IMO.
