Default Manufacturing Batch Codes - Off limits?

So I wrote to Hermes customer service, giving them the code on bottom of bottle... wanted to know what year my 24 Faubourg bottle was manufactured. They wrote back, saying it was "proprietary info", and couldn't give me any info. I was surprised by their reply...assumed it would be something the consumer would have the right to know. Thoughts?

Could be they just don't want to potentially aid counterfeiters. I can understand their position.

You might want to check out Andre Moreau's site:

Behemoth cut a slice of pineapple, salted it, peppered it, ate it, and then tossed off a second glass of alcohol so dashingly that everyone applauded.

Wouldn't they be obligated to inform us? After all , there's a huge expiry notice right on the packaging.

    for swap/sale:

A simple question deserves a simple answer..
I can't remember Hermes being faked like Chanel,Dior,Creed etc..
I would have asked for the persons name and also a supervisor..

That thought came into my mind also.
