Default Scents any fragrance collector MUST have

Hello, I am new to the forum (longer lurker) who has caught the obsession of fragrance over the past 6 months. I have probably 25-40 bottles and am looking to add more. To get a feel of my collection, here are some of what I have.
    Versace pH
    Dior Homme
D&G The One (if this had an intense I would never need another fragrance)
A few mish-mosh Ed Hardy's (Christmas gifts etc.)
    AdG (same as above)
    Thallium
    Joop! Homme
    UR Usher
    Elizabeth. Taylor Passion Men
    Fierce
    MJ Legend
    Jovan Musk
    Chrome Legend
(Many more citrus/aquatic that I haven't had the opportunity to really wear due to weather)

The post is as the title says!
    Thank you in advance!!!

Hey Conrad01, welcome to basenotes. One staple for most here is Terre d'Hermes. It's a nice citrus non-aquatic that can be worn all year. Fresh, yet very earthy qualities make this fragrance appealing to both the general public as well as fragrance collectors and connoisseurs.

    GIT
    Fahrenheit

These are a couple that many should have. Now, according to my opinion, I could list a lot more.
Is the juice worth the squeeze?

Thank you, Hermes was nice enough to send a freebie of TdH my way although I haven't received yet. I don't really have much interest in the Creeds (blasphemy, I know) but my skin kills frags and the consensus is usually creeds are light and longevity lacking :/. I HAVE been wanting a sample of some Rive Gauche like crazy though! Haha

At least one Chanel - Egoist is a pretty damn good choice.

Lots more, really. It's always going to come down to pure subjectivity - what you like and what you want to spend money on and feel comfortable wearing. Sample like a madman!

Egoiste and Platinum Egoiste are two entirely different fragrances. Neither is "better" though which you prefer is entirely up to you. Different things smell good to different people.

It's deeper. It's much more complex. And it's higher quality.

If you do a search, you will find many threads comparing the two.
    Here are a few.

I would also add another vote for Chanel's Egoiste, GIT, and Terre d'Hermes.

Bel Ami is a must if you enjoy leather scents.

As someone new to the game, I appreciate these the most so far:

    Green Irish Tweed
    Polo (Green)
    Terre d'Hermes Parfum
    Kiton Men
    Midnight in Paris EDP

    I stick to mostly designers.

Van Cleef & Arpels - Midnight In Paris EDP

It really depends on your tastes. That being said... these are some I would try:

    Dior Homme/Intense (Iris legends)
Creed Aventus (try it... its very powerful on my skin)
Terre d'Hermes EDT (elegant, dirty, awesome)
Midnight in Paris EDP (deep, dark, leather)
Creed Virgin island Water (beautiful... decent performance on me)
Creed Millesime Imperial (it is somewhat weak but smells great)
    Bleu de Chanel (compliments)
    Spicebomb (addictive, warm, spicy)
Tom Ford Grey Vetiver (clean, soapy, professional)
Neroli Portofino (this one blew me away when I tried it... will own it someday)
Dior Homme Sport (best Sport in the market)
Chanel Allure Homme (classic, safe, all-rounder)

    hope this helps...

Got to have some CdG in there, and I feel that this is one of the best examples of their slightly oddball yet highly wearable/accessible thing that they do so well.

Maybe a masculine rose like Le Labo's Rose 31 - a woody and rugged rose.

Just my opinion but several would be

    Dior Fahrenheit
    Dior Leather Oud
    Chanel Egoiste
    Amouage Epic Man
    Bogart One Man Show
    Jacomo de Jacomo
    Amouage Gold Man
Montale Aoud Lime or Black Aoud
    pure oud oil

This gives a good range of cheap ones to expensive.
