    Default Ambroxan crystals dilution

With DPG doesn't work, I read that with alcohol works, but any other solvent works with ambroxan?

    Thanks

TGSC says DPG is supposed to work, weird.

    Did you try heating it?

Hi JEBeasley! No, I don't try heating it, I will try!! Only I mix 1g of Ambroxan crystals in 9 g of DPG and the crystals are really apreciable (I did the same in vanillin and only some crystals was visible, the others were diluted in), weird!

I diluted it to 1% in ethanol, and it dissolved quite nicely. But was too powerful - I'm
    working with 0.1% now..

Hmmm, i don't know if it is a ploblem but now the 10% dilution of ambroxan is crystalized, like gel but seems ice. This is normal??

I don't know about normal but if it's still too solid to suck into a dropper/pipette then you should dilute it further. You don't have any alcohol?

No, I haven't! It's really difficult to buy alcohol in spain...or maybe I don't know suppliers...

10% is quite high for ambroxan, maybe try 1% in DPG?

I am fairly new to making perfume, so recently I experienced the same thing. I diluted a small batch of ambroxan crystals to 10% with 151 proof everclear. The mixture actually freezes at room temperature (pretty neat) and heating the bottle under hot tap water will clarify it for a few minutes long enough for use in a formula. Using 200 proof alcohol completely dissolves the crystals without the heat. It can work either way but the 200 proof is less work.

Too much water present in the former causing solubility problems. Using an alcohol with less water, solves the problem.
