Today arrived Jean Patou - Câline,
this beautiful little green chypre, which reminds me sitting in an Athen's street café under big trees while I was travelling in Greece 1979.

hedonist - congrats on your buy!

Oh, and a split I signed up on for Chanel Coromandel just filled, so that will be on its way shortly.
I'm hoping my bottle of Jicky extrait arrives today . Valerie at the Toronto Boutique was very helpful and they had a special for a $50 gift card off my next purchase.

Is your bottle Vintage or current formulation?

While I've been stuck here injured I'm afraid my boredom has led to rather a lot of budget breaking.

A rather lovely 100ml of vintage Diorella EdT
large decant of Tom Ford Tuscan Leather
    L'Occitane Immortelle de Corse EdP
and 24 Serge Lutens wax samples

    are just from this week.

I hope my knee heals soon because my bank account won't be able to take much more of this!

Sfmedusa, I feel your pain, sort of. I also had a ACL issue. My kneecap came out of its groove (at least I think that's what it was) plenty of rest. Custom orthotics are great, too. I got mine from my chiropractor. You need proper foot support or the whole thing goes to hell. The kind I have, you get by walking on a pad and lasers measure how much pressure you put on your feet. Very scientific.

Back to perfume. You could use this time to tidy up your collection. Samples need alphabetizing. Bottles need dusting. I've decided to put values on bottles in case I drop dead and someone has to value my collection. I want to donate the $ to the animal shelter.

Today a purchase that I bought arrived: Paloma Picasso Mon Parfum and The Perfumer's Workshop Samba Nova.

I remembered liking Samba Nova, but that was when I was a teenager. Hmmm.

But it's great to have Paloma Picasso back again. I'd run out and it was devastating!

Congrats, I adore Paloma Picasso Mon Parfum and have the EdP from the 80's.

Just bough another bottle of Eau de Patou, I'm hoping the re-issue does the original justice but I'm not taking any chances. Also snagged some Imperial.

I've been going a bit "wild" this month.

So far: Chanel #19 body cream & Chance Eau Fraiche simmer gel, Bond No 9 High Line edp, West Side body lotion & Nuit de Noho body cream. The body cream & edp were exchanges for Lexington Park body cream, once my #1 favorite, now a mere shadow of it's former creme brûlée glory. I had Silver Factory in the original Andy Warhol packaging but it sent both me & my daughter into coughing fits.

Chinatown is a fabulous scent but it smells better on my daughter than on me.

Kumquat Sublime is a wonderful floral chypre, I have the bud bottle and it's my 'sunshine in a bottle'. Have you tried Eau de Patou another excellent fragrance from Patou and perfect for warm weather. The conical bottles can be found a pretty good prices still... you know in case you needed a bit of friendly enabling.

Today I bought some Anne Klein I parfum. I'm hoping it's the right one and I've not mistaken it for Anne Klein II.

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm pretty excited to try this one. I have the 1000 which is very nice considering it's modern, so I'm hoping this will be, too. I can always use some enabling where Patou is concerned!

Eau de Patou may sit very well with you, the version in the conical bottles is exceptional. From memory the modern Sublime has a more pronounced citrus notes, slightly sharper to my nose. I also love 1000 the Osmanthus note in this one is wonderful and even more so in the older formulation.

I thought my sample had a similar feel to Grossmith's Golden Chypre, though Mito seemed greener and a little less sweet. However, when wearing it yesterday I did a side by side comparison with Jenny's Chanel Christalle and I realise that it is a much closer match. Imagine a galbanum orientated Christalle and you are not a million miles away. Classically executed and effervescent - if green hesperidic florals are your thing it should be high on your sniff list.
