Default Controlling Image Size in Posts

I'm sure I'm looking directly at the answer to my question, but it is not clicking. No matter what size image I insert into a post, it always appears as small, resolution and file size doesn't seem to make a difference. What do I need to do to make an adjustment.

That happens if you use the Basic Uploader, scooptn.

Larger images may be drag/dropped directly into the post from a website or uploaded from Dropbox, etc. using the standard 'Upload from URL' thing.

Or try unchecking the box that says "retrieve remote file and reference locally."

But if you drag an image from another website (I am not referring to a photo hosting site when the photo is yours), that is hot-linking.

Apart from the fact that is stealing bandwidth, the practice can result in unexpected and undesirable results. I recall a year or two ago a certain long-time female BNer found that the photos she posted were replaced by pornographic images.
