I would not say it's totally safe as it depends on your taste. It is a very nice spicy citrus/woody scent that is a little bit herbal. I have the new reformulated bottle and I like it though the vintage was much better. It's going to be a gamble.

    Welcome,

"Dunhill Edition" ,especially "Made in Germany" edition, isn't a safe blind buy.
The opening is very promising but the dry down is a huge disappointment IMO.
Fortunately I got rid of mine.

I love it! I agree with Jack hunter, it could be a gamble. It really depends on what you are used to.

It wasn't a gamble for me, I love fragrances in this category. I blind bought it, and it was an instant favorite.

I have the new formula. I find longevity is average. Not tremendous projection though..YMMV

Welcome to you! Personally think it's worth getting even if you haven't sampled this one previously.

The 'vintage' would have been as safe as houses as it was probably the best ever by Dunhill

I don't think any 'reformulations' can be considered as blind buys. On the upside, it's not gonna cost you a fortune to find out.

I love Dunhill Edition, own a current formulation bottle (made in Germany) as well as a 10ml decant of vintage. I am generally not into 80s powerhouses category, but this scent is just totally awesome.

As to the formulations... I think the old one is smoother, better quality and seems to last forever. The current version is not so bad though and is fairly true to the overall character, just maybe a tad more diluted.

I would highly recommend this fragrance. A classic!
