Default What is your favorite designer (or niche) house for scents?

Not individual scents, but the entire offering of a designer or niche brand.

Granted, my experience with niches is limited to decants and samplers from The Perfumed Court, so I'm going to focus just on designer scents. And my favorite design house is...(drumroll please!) ...Chanel. I currently own Bleu, Allure Homme Edition Blanche, Allure Homme Sport (regular and Eau Extreme), Pour Monsieur, Egoiste, Platinum Egoiste, and Antaeus. There's not a weak one in the bunch. If you ask me today, I'm obsessed with Egoiste. Tomorrow maybe it's AH Edition Blanche. I can't get enough of ALL of them!

Honorable mention goes to Dior. Dior Homme Intense is such a strange, mysterious scent that I'm just now, after owning it for a month, truly appreciating it. Loved the Sport version as soon as I got it; the orange note is delicious. Despite the mixed reviews, I plan on trying Dior Homme Eau soon.

So what about everyone else? I'm sure Creed will be a popular choice. Maybe Amouage? Looking forward to your comments...

I love Amouage. I only own one so far - Interlude Man (my god, what a stunner!), but even when I didn't enjoy one of theirs enough to want to buy a bottle, I was still always glad I sampled it. Their work really is impressive.

If you want to sample Amouage, Parfums Raffy is the way to go. They sell 2.5ml carded samples with sprayers at great prices. I got 2.5ml samples there for less than other places were selling 1ml samples that didn't even come with sprayers. Parfums Raffy rocks for Amouage.

Amouage for me too. Even if a particular scent is not for me I appreciate the artistry and ingredients. In a photo finish would be Serge Lutens and Fredric Malle. Dior would be my designer pick.

Almost impossible for me to pick one as my collection encompasses 227 different houses. Perhaps Montale.

That is an interesting question....looking at what I have I can pick out a couple from different houses that are staples. For posterity's sake I will say Chanel for the simple reason I have had something from that house for what seems like forever.

In the designer realm that would have to be YSL. If push came to shove and I was only limited to one designer house I feel that ysl could conceivably meet all my fragrant needs. My solid 5 is rive gauche, m7, body kouros, l'homme and LA nuit. Somehow it feels like this bunch encompasses a major chunk of scents at large (to me at least).

Definitely Amouage. Everything they have done has impressed me, even when I don't find one that works for me, I can still appreciate the quality of the scent. Consistently high quality with great performance.

Another for Comme des GarÁons. By far my most purchased house. Just picked up Sugi today and can't wait to give it a full wearing.

There's only one that I love every "Male" fragrance offering from...

    Issey Miyake

Next closest things, Perry Ellis & Animale Parfums. Could be a couple other contenders that I'm not recalling.

Maison Francis Kurkdjian. High quality, masterfully blended, versatile fragrances with excellent longevity and sillage on my skin. They are all very wearable (but never boring) in contrast to a lot of other niche fragrances I sampled that I love too but more as an olfactory experience and not as something I would like to smell like. And they all have that elegant French vibe, that 'joie de vivre' I like so much...

Hold on to that obsession, you will not regret it

I guess it is a tie between Chanel and Comme des Garcons for me. The Chanels I love have all the class and elegance I could ever want ( …goÔste <3 ), and the CdG's fit my quirky and slighly mad personality traits.
