Chergui IMO is better.
Tobacco Vanille
Chergui
Hello!
I've been looking for a new scent and right now it stands between Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille or Serge Lutens Chergui.
Right now I own BtB by Kilian, unfortunately I can't wear it that often because I get red dots/rashes from it that itches, no matter wear I spray it, except on clothing.
So I'm looking for a similar fragrance to BtB and the two mentioned above I think is good contenders, from what I've read.
Which one is better and most similar to BtB? I want to wear it on a daily basis no matter what occasion. If it matters, I'm 24.
Thanks in advance!
Chergui IMO is better.

You got me... lol. I'm often referred to as BtB due to my screen name. Lol
Ill have to agree with hednic.
I've not found much with Tom Ford I've liked, at all.
Skip Tobacco Vanille and get yourself Sonoma Scent Studio Tabac Aurea - it's far better, and less expensive as well.
(this is something, coming form a self-proclaimed Tom Ford junkie!)
Tobacco Vanille

I love Tobacco Vanille, but Chergui is more complex and more wearable. Tobacco Vanille is a powerhouse, and I’m more self-conscious when wearing it. You should also try Burberry London and L'Occitane Eau des Baux.
They're both great - very different, but I gave the nod to TV.
Current favorites_____Black Tourmaline_____Gucci Pour Homme II_____Memoir Man_____Tuscan Leather______Montale Aoud and Pine_____Sel Marin_____Invasion Barbare_____Tonka Imperial____Dior Homme Intense_____L'Humaniste____Santal 33_____Bois d'Argent_____Nio_____MFK Oud_____Lumiere Noire_____Bois d'Encens_____Cuir Ottoman
Both are nice, but I would go with TV.
I love both. I have to give TV the slight edge, but Chergui is more complex and a classic in it's own right. You really can't go wrong with either. I will say that with TV, you have to be ready to deal with a lot of Vanilla, especially after 4-5 hours.
Current Top 10:
Creed Green Irish Tweed
MFK Baccarat Rouge 540
Creed Royal Oud
Armani Prive Myrrhe Imperiale
Amouage Jubilation XXV
Tom Ford Tuscan Leather
Tom Ford Amber Absolute
MDCI Invasion Barbare
Amouage Interlude Man
Tom Ford Plum Japonais
I have both and prefer Chergui overall. One of my favorite tobacco vanilla scents is Herod by Parfums de Marly, much smoother and better blended than TV can be easily worn everyday all year round. Also, the cost per ml beats TV. Chergui is a very different scent to me, and serves a different roll in my rotation.
Current favorites:
1. Hard Leather by LM Parfums
2. Peety by O'Driu
3. M by Puredistance
4. Vikt by Slumberhouse
5. Invasion Barbare by MDCI
6. Spice & Wood by Creed
7. Tribute Attar by Amouage
Go with parfums De Marley Herod. Its like a mixture of TV and B2B........IMO that is.
Chergui.
Try Volutes (Diptyque), the EDT is excellent, a much 'easier wear' than B2B or the others you mention, EDP also good, 'denser'.

Tom Ford Private Blend Splits HERE
Neither are really that similar to B2B, but both are excellent fragrances. Worth a try for both.
Splits!
Creed GIT, Clive Christian 1872 & X For Men --------> http://www.basenotes.net/threads/370...-International
I voted for Chergui, but also try Haram/Farah from Brecourt, amazing fruity honey with excellent performances...
Prefer Tobacco Vanille
I reckon TV is closer to BtB However TV and Chergui are not that similar.
Maybe TV for a straight up tobacco and Chergui for a more complex scent that contains a tobacco note.

Xerjoff Mamluk is much closer to B2B
+1 Parfums de Marly Herod - the most similar to B2B that I've smelled.
Tobacco Vanille has more similarities with B2B but IMO Chergui is a much better fragrance, it is not similar to B2B though
Chergui
I like both Tobacco Vanille and Chergui but would opt for the Tom Ford if I had to choose.
I would also recommend trying Eau des Baux by L'Occitane: I've only tried it once but it brought to mind Tobacco Vanille with a kind of 'cola' note thrown in.
I have all three of those. I don't find them similar. I'd say they're in the same category though.
1: Chergui
2: Tobacco Vanille
3: Back To Black

TV and Chergui aren't very similar to BtB in my opinion. TV is too spicy and Chergui is too dry. I agree that Perfume de Marly Herod or Ineke Field Notes from Paris have a more similar vibe to BtB with the Ineke being the better of teh two.
Chergui all the way. TV on me is way to much vanilla and very little tobacco. A lot of great 'other' recommendations here also.
I love Chergui. TV is interesting but too overwhelming for me in the drydown.

Chergui is much better. As someone mentioned earlier in the thread, Volutes by Diptique falls in that category; it smells a lot like Tom Ford without the dense sweetness.
Xerjoff Mamluk is a dirtier version of BtB.
