Default Does any of you still wear Herrera for men?

    Hello boys!

This is my first post here. Ive been reading some of the threads and finally decided to register.

I´m quite new to the world of fragrances and right now I´m having some trouble finding a fragrance that is heavy on the tobacco smell. I ordered Herrera for men online yesterday and I want to know if it´s still a good call for these times.

I also have been reading comments about Burberry London, Borgart ph and John Varvatos´ Vintage. What are your opinions about this? Specially about Herrera for men? BTW, my age is 28.

Herrera for men is a timeless non-sweet tobacco scent. I was actually going to buy it this week since a local store can give me a good price on it, but decided to tone down purchases until next month.

    You made a great buy.

Actually , Herrera for Men is a very good scent and I enjoy it very much ,even I didn't expect that when I received it.

Herrera may seem a bit too "old school" for you but if you like it, then that's all that matters. Alternatively, I think Dolce & Gabbana does a good job of capturing the same style in a more timeless way. They're both really good, but one has withstood the test of time better. I would grab the D&G Pour Homme online rather than at a retailer (the newest version in stores is very weak by comparison to older formulas).
    Spring/Summer Rotation:

    Versace Pour Homme
    Kenzo Pour Homme (vintage)
Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme (vintage)
    D& G Masculine
    Christian Dior Dune
    Guerlain Homme (EDT)
    Bond No9 Riverside Drive

If smelling good was a crime, I'd be serving a lifetime sentence....

Own Herrera for Men, and enjoy it a lot. I owned it in the 90's when it first hit the market and the juice that's available retail now seems very close to the original. A teeny bit old-school, but wears very well in the Spring and Fall particularly.

Have never worn it, but considered getting it while being popular and still widely available.

I picked up a little Herrera in a lot that I bought -- one of those unexpected keepers!

This was my SOTD yesterday, rather my scent of the first part of the day, the current formulation gives me about 8 hours longevity. Not as good as the older stuff, not nearly as strong, but still smells about the same. I have a small 1 oz bottle; they redid the 1 oz bottles, they are flat now and look like the style of Herrera Aqua.

Scent itself, pretty good spicy/tobacco, great sandalwood dry down. Similar to Havana by Aramis, but not as good imo. Still a solid fragrance; but once I use this one up, I won't be buying it again.
    My Ultimate Top 5:

    Fahrenheit (1988)
    Paul Smith Man (2009)
    Burberry London (2006)
    Prada Amber pour Homme (2006)
    Arpege pour Homme (2005)

I find Herrera for Men to be a discordant scent - there was something wrong about it, which made me want to go back and keep sniffing it. Anyhow, I noticed the other day that I've nearly used up half a bottle, so I must like it better than I thought.
    Regards,
    Renato

This is/was my Dad's signature scent for.. maybe over a decade or something? I actually put some on real recently from a bottle I acquired from him, .

I like it, I haven't worn it much at all, probably largely due to association with my Dad - it may seem like more 'his', know what I mean? .

Like has been said, HfM is a timeless and undoubtedly manly frag. I prefer its tobacco expression to that of D&G pH. I am not sure there has been as noticable a reformulation (if at all) of the Herrera as the D&G. Still a very good call, IMO.

I have always liked this. Compared to the 212 range, it's a masterpiece
