Default Millesime Imperial Alternative w/ more lasting power

Almost pulled the trigger this morning on some MI, but have heard bad things about the lasting power. Can anyone recommend a few alternatives and where I could procure samples of the suggestions?

    Thanks!

I've been circling around MI for a while and am going to purchase. I don't see any problem with lasting power and I don't think anything can replace it. Very addicting..

I don't think the longevity is necessarily an issue. I've had quite good longevity with mine.

Although they are quite a bit cheaper and smell similar with slightly better performance on my skin, Sean John Unforgivable and Ed Hardy Love and Luck are close, but the quality of MI is so much better.

Love and Luck should do it. Don't know about having as much longevity though.

    Same here.

Pull the trigger. This is a rare case the "alternatives" do not really come close to the real thing IMO. The tales of M.I. disappearing is overstated. It lasts for several hours, it just does not project the whole time. Get a sample or small decant and test it out before you buy a full bottle. Try and get in on a split or from fragrancenet or other legit discounters as i find that M.I. is susceptible to batch issues even more than Aventus.

    Good luck!

Agreed. Love and Luck particularly has almost nothing to do with MI. It's sweet and summery, yes, but MI is so much better it is not worth mentioning the comparison.

Interesting. I always found this to smell a lot more like Silver Mountain Water.

The trouble is, this one is becoming very hard to find! And I think it's a great scent, personally. Snag it if you find it.

I don't care for it at all, but some really like Bond No. 9 Wall Street as a comparison to MI.

It probably does have better longevity, but it also has a fishy dry down to my nose. However, the opening is rather good and very similar to MI.

I'd buy MI 100% of the time. The only decent comparison to MI, IMO, is Sean Jean's Unforgivable Multi-Platinum. But it is rather expensive as it has become a collectible item.
