What would be the top 3 to sample from his offerings? How is quality?

Sandolo is the only one I own, and it is quite good to my nose....

Don't own any but have tried almost their entire line. The three below were OK.

    Piper Nigrum
    Sandalo
    Vetiver

I own Sandalo too and it is my SOTD today.

I would definitely try that along with Acqua di Colonia and Uomo. I tried Vetiver but I am not that into this note now, so I'm probably biased.

I have quite a few of their scents (Musk, Teint de Neige, Vetiver, Spezie, Patchouli, Sandalo, Yerbamate and Donna) and like them all but especially enjoy using their ancillary products. The lotions are a little runny, but leave a nice feel to the skin and extend the scent until it's washed off and the bath and shower cremes create the most luxurious bubble bath I've yet to experience.

I own Uomo, which is pretty fantastic IMO.
Only downside is that longevity is not great.

I get a very 'foody' vibe from it, a kind of citrus and tomato basil, to my nose, and then later, almost a hint of dough or baked bread, which is likely the type of vetiver it's using.

Uomo is one of my favorite fragrances. I think it's fantastic. Own it, and will be buying a new bottle soon as it's near empty. It's been in my top 5 for 3 years and counting.

Piper Nigrum is also good, but in my experience its batches may vary.

I've noticed that too for Uomo. Longevity on me was poor if anything.

I tried PN too but decided that it wasn't my cup of tea. The whole range is worth sampling in my opinion.

What?!? No love for Colonia? I just got a decant and its high quality stuff but I was a little un-impressed with the longevity after reading how it was such a "long-lasting cologne."

I agree that the whole range is worth trying. I own nine of them, my current favorites being Piper Nigrum, Vetiver, and Uomo. I've also had times when I've loved Spezie and Yerbamate. His recent offerings are not up to the earlier ones, IMHO.

I own Uomo, Vetiver, Patchouli and Uomo is my favorite. All are good quality but TBH, I don't often reach for them.

Hmmm....Maybe I will wait until I get to a shop that carries them to sniff them out instead of ordering samples...I have spent so much on samples that it's a bit absurd. For now I will get a few bottles of Creed and Guerlain Thank you for your responses!

I own Acqua Di Colonia, Uomo, Vetiver, Incensi, Musk (used to have Patchouli but it's not for me)).

Best from the line are Acqua Di Colonia, Uomo and Sandalo. Uomo is a signature scent, not gonna be without it.

While I don't always agree with Luca Turin's reviews, I think he rated the Villoresi fragrances appropriately.

Ok. Those are on my list of "to try" then. I think they sell samples on their website for 4-5 bucks each...I may order 2 or 3.

    Thanks!

It's a pleasant, powdery rose. Nice, but not as musky as you would expect from the name.

Agree that it's much more rose than musk...but musk is there - plus sandalwood, powder and vanilla. More feminine than unisex imho.

An incredibly solid range which is not to everyone's tastes though…My current favorites are (in no particular order)…

    Sandalo
    Piper Nigrum
    Theseus

The initial releases are a million times better than the current stuff.

    Sandalo - creamy mysore sandalwood
Uomo - herbs of the Mediterranean
    Vetiver - dank vetiver

    Yerbamate is great
grean, soft, tender all at once

I think Teint De Neige suits its name very well and it's a one of a kind. It leans more to the feminine side than being unisex though. I didn't care much for the others I sampled.

Have Piper Nigrum and samples of Sandalo and Musk. By far, the best one is Musk. As to Piper Nigrum, well, it did not come to my expectations.

I have and love Musk (soft and warm), Patchouli (very earthy and dirty patchouli), Piper Nigrum (cool/hot) and Yerbamate (my favourite).

I tried Uomo (nice, herbal and versatile), Acqua de Colonia (same vibe as Acqua di Parma Colonia), Dilmun (classic neroli cologne with tipical Villoresi's herbal touch), Yerbamate (original, green and soft) and Musk (nice musky rose scent, a bit femenine to me)...

I'm intrigued about Piper Nigrum, Incensi and Vetiver...do you think any of them are suitable for warm weather?

I did a poll on people's favorite Villoresi fragrance about a year and a half ago with more than 50 people voting. The two most popular by far were Uomo and Piper Nigrum, with Sandalo, Yerbamate, and Vetiver trailing behind those two and making up the top 3-5. Vote shares for the rest of the lineup were negligible. You can find the poll results here: http://www.basenotes.net/threads/309...esi?highlight=
