Default Next Purchase: MI, DH, or GIT

    Hey guys,

So I officially broke my 15 fragrance limit and bought a 4oz bottle of Creed Virgin Island Water and 50ml's worth of Creed Aventus yesterday. Long overdue. I'm already thinking about my next purchase and have narrowed it down to Dior Homme, Green Irish Tweed, and Millesime Imperial. Three very versatile fragrances. I've heard 2013 MI batches have better performance than pre-2013 and if true that would be excellent (if you own a 2013 batch please share). The other two are classics.

Based on my what I have, what do you guys think would complement my collection the best? I'll probably own all three at some point, but I plan on taking a break between purchases to really get to know each one. Thanks for the help.

I'd say that Dior Homme would be a nice compliment to what you just purchased, but honestly whichever you decide on, they're all wonderful choices IMO.

I'd also vote for DH, quite unique and classic smelling.

I think GIT would be better at this point. Spring time and all.

You have a very nice lineup of scents in your wardrobe. Between the three I would definitely go with MI. DH is rather redundant and MI is slightly superior to GIT IMO.

I'm falling in line with the last two posters. Dior Homme Sport will be good for summer and you're just coming out of winter which was good for the Intense. Dior Homme is good to own eventually, but it is similar to what you have already. GIT is somewhat different. MI is also different, but less so. GIT and MI both smell great in the spring, and MI will be a particularly good one in the summer, once it gets hot.

Maybe GIT now and MI in the summer, to alternate with the VIW?

And agreed with the other posters - a great wardrobe!

DH is never redundant, its my signature scent. I wear MI when I want to feel a bit more special.

Unfortunately for me, GIT is a signature of my colleagues so it puts me off.

Yep. Sure. That's what I thought I would do after 30. And after 50. And certainly after 75. No way I need 100, right? Ok, when I hit 150 I'll stop... ok - 200 is the max...

highend, I would skip DH as you already have DHI. I would bypass GIT for the time being. You have Bleu de Chanel that you can use as a versatile office day to day scent. I would suggest you go with MI. It's a unique fragrance that will add a new dimension to your collection..

In terms of scent, MI is better than GIT, IMO. Don't like DH or DHI.

I know this will sound snobby, but I would say DH if you mean the vintage version and not the current formulation. If not vintage, then go with GIT.

I would say DH since you just got two really good Creeds (one all around in Aventus, and one Summer in VIW). That being said the other two Creeds you have on the list are great fragrances as well.

Excellent point. Bleu and GIT, although vastly different in terms of smell, serve that 'all-rounder/workhorse role.' Hence, I think I've narrowed it down to MI and DH. I perceive MI as being a tad more 'special/luxurious' than GIT in terms of the vibe it gives off. If the 2013 batches of MI are better (than pre-2013) in terms of performance, as I've heard, it would be a much easier choice. But as of yet, that has not been confirmed by anyone.

To those who own DH, when do you wear it? What's its 'role' in your collection? DHI, imo, is the obvious choice for a dressy night out/club scent. Is DH your office/daily scent or casual night scent? I have sampled it numerous times but you never really know where/how a fragrance shines until you experiment with it more significantly. Thanks again for the input, guys.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of the 3. Own and love all of them. I have a 2013 batch of MI and get above average longevity out of it. DH is fantastic as well. Tough choice. Flip a coin a few times

I'll hopefully own all three at some point, too. Which batch of MI do you own? When you say above-average longevity, do you mean as compared to previous batches of MI or just in general? Thanks.

I'll throw in another vote for Dior Homme (and don't worry -- the current formulation is just fine). It's one of the most versatile fragrances I own; easy to wear at work, great for a date, good in any season. It's always a tasteful, but never boring, choice. Gets plenty of compliments, too. Any guy more than passingly interested in fragrance should have it in his collection.
