    Talking Today I Bought—April 2014

Really? I'm starting this thread? Three days into the month? OK, then!

More vintage Diorella for me! 2 oz EDT spray.
What do insomniac perfumers do to fall asleep? They count chypres!

I bought samples of Jalaine perfume oils - $18 for the set, which is a great deal I think! I told myself I was not going to make any new purchases for the next three months because I blew my annual budget on samples last month :-(

But I have a problem. I can't help myself. I am also angling to buy a bottle of Cuir de Lancome from a fellow BN-er, a blind buy, which also violates my no blind buy rule. I am a right eejit, as we say in Ireland.

Edited: Boo hoo, Jalaine cancelled my order because they don't deliver to my country. And another sale to me was cancelled - nobody's fault, just a customs issue with shipping perfume. Oh well, I take that as permission to spend that money on decants!

ClaireV your not an eejit your sample budget just needs revising I love Jalaine's Patchouli and Cuir de Lancōme is lovely too.

Genie Jeanie, I love Eau de Patou is such as good buy, I'm so tempted to start hoarding this one.

The Diorella arrived, photos to be posted later. This is an atomizer that disperses subatomic particles! It is "cleaner" than the splash mini that that was my initial Diorella experience. Where the spray opens very lemony, the splash, which I believe is older, starts with a meaty floral vibe, possibly ylang-ylang. The spray was a little disappointing, until I pointed it at my bedding. Sprayed on bedding, it is utterly beguiling.

ps—danieq, you had better smell and tell! From Shocking to Slumberhouse—that's quite a range.

Bad - or good, depending on how you *sniff* it - things happen when I get angry...as in 4 oz vintage Givenchy L'Interdit EDT. The one I really wanted was 2 oz in box (I'm a sucker for a box), but it was over 2x as much, so I'm settling for the 4-ouncer.

This is the ebay seller's photo. Love the Rolodex in the background.

Nearly forgot, I also bought a vintage Givenchy III EDT tester the other day.

Also: Xscent, those Shalimar twins are beyond adorable. And I'm with Mike, the L'Origan looks freakin' incredible.

And kumquat, your Sublime is gorgeous!!! I love that bottle and look forward to sniffing Sublime one day.

It is really good; I have a hard time with the original Shalimar's opening and it is muted in this version; plus, it's a limited edition and it's inexpensive.

Well with shipping it was another $10.25 , but you won't hear me complaining ! Especially since the other FB on Ebay is a bin of $89.99 or some such. The only thing VdA on Ebay that cheap is........................a poster ad . Big whoop. There is a used small lot going for around $19 with around a quarter to a third of a bottle left if anyone else is getting a lemming for this too. I love this funky violet.
