Good morning all !. Unusually early start for a Sunday but not without good reason. First in the queue for breakfast at the local garden centre - their home made preserves on a warm croissant are to die for. They have also excelled with the displays this year, resulting in a nice backdrop for all the shameless gluttony.

Only one option today after all the recent discussion. SotD is Iris Silver Mist.

Hoping all those under the weather are showing signs of improvement.

Especially for you, Mrs Q ....

Lovely pictures, Jon. The only garden centre I have been to in your
neck of the woods is Van Hagues (my sister lives near there.)

It's pretty dreary here this morning and I am sitting posting this message,
whilst watching a pigeon and a blackbird trying to imitate humming birds by
hovering at the side of my squirrel-proof bird feeder and attempting to
peck out the seeds whilst flapping their wings - most comical!

I am wearing the very deeply sensual Shalimar edp.

Trying out Chanel Beige today. The opening is a little screechy, but after ~15 mins. it is just lovely. This might be a good replacement for my everyday scent (D&G L'Imperatrice) once I run out. I can't pick out any individual notes, but it's sweet and a little soapy. I've read some complaints about the staying power, hoping that isn't an issue for me.

Jon; "shameless gluttony" sounds good, do tell us what delicacies you indulged in today?

Kewart; it's very dreary here, too. l just walked home in the dreich from a very busy day at work. l was already tired this morning after a very patchy night's sleep; l had a horrible dream about zombies & woke up around 2.30 am, afraid to go back to sleep! l blame Mr teardrop for watching The Walking Dead. That stuff really disturbs me.

My nerves are so shattered l've cracked open the merlot already. SOTD was Carnal Flower, SOTE yet to be decided.

Toasted teacake with strawberry / vodka jam and a croissant with whisky marmalade, plus the obligatory dose of caffeine. Also have some merlot left so about to join you in a wine synch.

Staying with the iris theme for the evening, thanks to VC&A.

Hi everyone! It's a beautiful warm, sunny day and the snow is melting nicely. So great to be able to get outside and walk, I was getting so tired of the treadmill.

Congrats ErinK on the Kentucky win last night and good luck in the final.

Ooh Hednic that Kashan Rose looks really interesting, I might have to order a sample.

    Beautiful pictures again, Jon!

Trying out a sample of 1000 Flowers Love is Sweet today. Notes include bergamot, pink pepper, Bulgarian rose oil, iris, Turkish rose absolute, cinnamon, violet, opoponax, patchouli, vanilla, sandalwood, Tonka bean, musk and amber. Really liking the cinnamon in this one, it's really good.

    Enjoy your Sunday!

Surgery is Wednesday. Straightening up my house in preparation. SOTA is Caron Fleurs de Rocaille, which has an interesting peppery/cumin spice note—unless that's the signature Caron carnation coming through. Yep, carnation, which suggests a play on words, to wit:

ErinK - yay Wildcats! I'm so busy today to post my 'surprise' but I'll give you a hint...it has to do with a vintage Guerlain scent. I promise I'll post more about it soon. Thank you for your excitement for me sweetie.
RHM - glad to see the grouch has a smile today. ((healing hugs)) I still haven't smelled Beige. but honestly it doesn't sound like something I'd like
teardrop - The Walking Dead freaks me out too. Any sort of post-apocalyptic tv/movie always mildly disturbs me. That Will Smith thriller 'I Am King' disturbed me for weeks afterwards. I'm very sensitive to that sort of thing. You're not alone.
jujy54 - Oh thanks for reminding us of your surgery...you'll be on all of our minds that day. Everything is going to be fine - I am sure of it!

Feel even better today than I did yesterday...yesterday I got a lot of sun and I got a tiny bit sunburnt so I am super tanned today. Stayed indoors. Had coffee (I rarely drink coffee anymore, sort of a 1 day a week thing now, after I juice-cleansed). Met up with friends this morning & ran into someone I haven't seen in ages, a co-worker/acquaintance that has been going thru some hard times recently, so it was nice to be there for him. Came home, ate, talked to a friend in Montreal for about 2 hours and now I'm finishing up my Income Taxes. Off to grocery shop and then later drinks with friends in Ft. Lauderdale (the Gay Rodeo is happening up there this weekend & there is a country-western bar that'll be FULL of people...and that is SO not my scene but it's fun to be around ever so often). Yee Haw!

Woke up craving the smell of leather (which I hardly ever do - weird) so it was easy to reach for:

    Nostalgia by Santa Maria Novella

I'll probably wear Dzing! later. Just because it's another 'odd leather' and I always receive loads of compliments when I wear it.
