Neroli is indeed a noble quest. My favorites are C & S Neroli, Kobe Xerjoff, and PdN Colonge Sologne. A myriad of eaux contain substantial amounts of neroli, too.

I found Tom Ford too synthetic along with Penhaligon's Castile.

Bergamotto Marino's my favorite so far. I prefer it to Neroli Portofino and it's about a tenth the price.

Neroli is my favorite so naturally, I have a lot that feature that note predominantly and have tried many as well.

L'occtaine Neroli EDP (although discontinued, it's amazing!)
    Kobe
    Nio
    Eau De New York
    Annick Goutal Neroli
    Neroli Portofino
    Mugler Cologne

These are some of my absolute favorites that feature neroli. I have yet to try Roja Dove Neroli but I have a 10 ml decant coming soon

I own and enjoy Bergamotto Marino but I don't know if I can classify it as a 'neroli frag.' The top three notes I get on this one are bergamot, orange blossom and jasmine with a salty/marine background. It's good stuff, though... Lucky to have gotten it for a steal before it became 'extinct.'

I ordered a few samples of TF's Neroli Portofino. I should be receiving them this week and will hopefully have more to say on the subject then. I've only smelled it once on a paper-strip and, as you know, that's not enough.

I have GOT to look at Bergamotto Marino - this stuff is getting fantastic buzz!

For me, neroli scents will always have to compete with Creed's version, Neroli Sauvage, which was the first I ever smelled. I just love that stuff to death, and get great compliments from my wife. But I'm always on the lookout for new ones!

    Habit Rouge Eau Legere (2005)

Not as good as Habit Rouge but an exceptional use of pungent neroli.

I don't consider Bergamotto Marino 'out of this world' but its definitely a well-executed italian-style cologne with edt+ performance. Very pleasant, honest interpretation of bergamot and jasmine with a nice salty vibe.

I heard Neroli Sauvage smells great at first, but performance is abismal. True?

Neroli Bianca by Guerlain (bitter citrus support a wonderful realistic neroli that keeps changing everytime I wear it, I've never encountered a more beautiful and interesting neroli solifore)

Seville a l'aube by L`Artisan Parfumeur (a oriental floral fragrance centered around neroli, sweet, smoky and well floral)

Fleurs d'Orange by Serge Lutens (not a typical neroli smell, much more floral)

That is a perfect description. It smells fantastic for a few minutes, and then it just tapers away to nothing. The only Creed with worse performance is Bois de Cedrat. But it's beautiful for that short time, and makes a wonderful cologne for freshening up right before you go out.

Bergamotto Marino is getting pretty pricey, but I'm curious about some others from the company - they look fairly cheap on places like Overstock.com - I may look into one of the others. They have a floral citrus that looks really attractive and priced to sell - something like $30 for 6.7 oz.

I did a poll on people's favourite neroli/orange blossom fragrances about a year ago, and more than 70 people voted. Although this is a huge fragrance category and it's very hard to narrow down the field for a poll, I proposed 19 different and well-known neroli-centered fragrances and allowed multiple-choice voting. The top four were TF Neroli Portofino, Kurkdjian APOM pour Homme, Chanel Eau de Cologne, and Mugler Cologne.
You might find the poll results and the discussion in that thread interesting - you can find it here: http://www.basenotes.net/threads/326...orange-blossom

    LOL!

Neroli Sauvage is definitely in the "minute rice" category!

Although I blasted myself with so much GIT yesterday, that I was bombing everybody with the base this morning. I think that was more in the category of "unwanted things"!

I think a few internet reviews/reviewers may have inadvertently helped with the price increase! Some of the pricing is getting ridiculous. I managed to get 2 big bottles recently for cheap from an Italian eBayer but availability is not what it used to be.

Neroli adds a nice round warmth to several eau de cologne style fragrances that really are not neroli scents, but the neroli addition is what makes them very good, imo. These are: Maitre Parfumer et Gantier Pour Le Jeune Homme, Villoresi Aqua di Colonia and Creed Jardin d' Amalfi. The neroli fills out a big space inside these three.

Profumum Neroli is excellent and has a dry musky wood finish (petitgrain?) that is excellent. Also like Neroli Portofino, light and sunny.

Even though the Creeds aren't as good as some of the others, you could try the neglected Citrus Bigarrade if you can find it. It is a more earthy, powdery, sour neroli that reminds me of the industrial age orange groves of California at the Turn of the XXth Century rather than the romantic groves of Andalusia.

Neroli Portofino is a very good choice, as is Jardin d'Amalfi.

I hear mixed reviews regarding NP's longevity... Some argue that's the main problem with it (doesn't last) while others claim it lasts forever. Weird...

Can anyone speak to Castle Forbes Special Reserve Neroli? Glowing write-up for it on Fragrantica, but the price is pushing my blind-buy limits.

I recently tried it in Fortnum and Mason in London. It's ok but if I recall correctly very short lived. Not worth it in my opinion...
