I don't know how high the $ bar is in your definition of cheapos , but the first one that comes to mind (if not the only) is : 24 Gold

Aha, it's totally the opposite of what i thought. I'll take my beloved 24 gold out of the equation then !

Will get back to you on that one. Can't think of any right now.

In my opinion: Eau de Campagne, perhaps not quite understanding the tomato leaf, but its price could justify a better quality and a better fragrance altogether.

    Eau D'Ikar ... perhaps.

Most of what you find at any retail counter could qualify for the price per bottle. Gucci Guilty Black and Made to Measure are some of the worst offenders in recent times. $80 plus for a bottle of what smells like a knock off fragrance of something that could have been decent at best. I can't tell you how badly I hate the new Gucci fragrances that are being shoved down the consumers' throats. Ralph Lauren's newer stuff is and has been just as bad if not worse.

I also have to agree with the OP on Little Italy by Bond no. 9. It's beyond basic for what is considered a "niche" fragrance. $50 or less should get you a 6 oz bottle of this decent juice.
My top 5 changes like the Tennessee weather.

    Versace Eros.
    +1 Gucci MtM
The 'James Bond 007' range (although I've seen some in the bargain bin where they belong recently).
So many niche it's hard to know where to start...most Linari, Brecourt, Byredo, Atkinsons 1799...
    Truefitt and Hill

I haven't smelt yet and problably never will, private reasons for no reason at all, but if valentino Uomo is so close to DH and DHI why all this talk about? Where I live it costs more than the Dior sweeties... there 's one reason ...

I'm sure this will hurt some feelings, but basically most of the retro stuff to me smells "cheap" to me. Like polo green, bucheron (uh-oh), certier pasha etc

On the designer side pretty much anything by Gucci, +1 on Eros, Ralph Lauren, Armani. On the niche side the Odin line, Bond No.9 just to name a few

Forever Now, an exclusive fragrance for men and women from the house of Gucci, is launched in January 2013 as a tribute to the museum Gucci Museo in Florence and as a reminder of the Florentine roots of this luxury brand. The scent, rich, intense and sophisticated, evokes the brand's history and its modernity. Guccio Gucci opened his first shop in Florence in 1921, and in 2011 the Gucci Museo was opened at Piazza della Signoria.

The brand’s creative director Frida Giannini and perfumer Lorenzo Villoresi worked together on the fragrance. Giannini said: „Just as the Gucci Museo represents the remarkable narrative behind our iconic products and motifs, so this new fragrance subtly conveys the elegance and sophistication of our roots."

My verdict - nice, just nice

I couldn't disagree more with your choice of Valentino Uomo! I can certainly see where it isn't a good fit for everyone, but the dry down is very lush to me. I think it's going to be around for a while.

While I know these have their fans and I apologize to them in advance... Pretty much the entire "Blu" line from Acqua di Parma fits the bill as they all smell quite poor, IMO (too bad, as the regular line is anything but). Many (though certainly far from all) Creed offerings also fit the bill, with Erolfa with its poor fragrance profile and even worse longevity probably their worst offender to my nose... Of course these are just a few examples out of so many others.

Yeah you are!!!lol AHS is my scent of the day, I just love this stuff...can't get enough! I totally agree with Gucci, RL and LaCoste houses being over priced for what you get in general. I'll also add Armani, even though I own quite a few myself.
