Thread: Roja Fetish

    Default Roja Fetish

After a long absence from fragrance purchases, was roped back in today by Roja Fetish. A special display in Nieman Marcus with dedicated rep (who needs to study up more, but I digress).

I see the comparisons to Pure Distance M for sure. There is a similarity. But I think Fetish wears a bit closer. I love M but it reaches out and touches everybody.

I think I'm a sucker for cinammon and cardamom. Love X by Clive Christian.

    Fetish is very "me."

Looking forward to giving it a regular wearing on Monday. Picking up a bit of a vanilla vibe, or is that the cardamom? I'm not getting the overwhelming castoreum some have mentioned.

    Nice stuff. Manly elegance.

Have smelled it and think it's a very pleasant fragrance also.

I also find it quite similar to Puredistance M. Nothing I would find myself wearing very often, but I can see how others would really like it.
    Seasonal favorites:

    1. Creed - Spice & Wood
    2. Creed - Aventus
    3. Dior - Vetiver
    4. by Kilian - Incense Oud
    5. Puredistance - Black
    6. by Kilian - Cruel Intentions
    7. Armani Privé - Oud Royal
    8. Brückner - Aoud 1
    9. Creed - Royal English Leather
    10. House of Matriarch - Blackbird

I like Fetish Pour Homme and don't think it's too similar to Puredistance to be an "either or"-question. Fetish PH feels like a "green fire" to me, a "heart of darkness"-type of scent. It has some of the smoldering effect, I like in Profumum Romas' "Arso" but less of sweetness which I grew to dislike quickly and is overall much more green and animalic.

Bel Ami with a less herbal vibe but wih much more gravitas, and my favourite Roja Dove.

What I love and miss about Basenotes is that one can post at 8:44 US pacific time and get several responses from around the world.

Is not exactly BelAmi but,the association is there with both, Puredistance "M" and Roja Dove Fetish. However, the quality of Roja Dove and Puredistance offerings is, without a doubt, vastly superior.

The EDP. Extrait was not available.

I actually wanted an EDP. Have a tough time gauging the "dose" with M.

I personally prefer the extrait . But both iterations are excellent & serve their own individual purposes.

If I had a smaller collection of perfumes & wanted a daily wearer, it'd be the edp - for the versatility.

Have been wearing this a couple of days now and really like it. Wears as a skin scent compared to M. But hangs in nicely albeit close.

Really blossomed in the heat today, Nice juice. Will be wearing this a lot.

It is really great, whereas M reminds me of Bel ami, I get more of a "Derby" vibe from Fetish edp. Agree with hedonist about the versatility of the edp; if you can try the extrait though I highly recommend it, even if you don't buy it, it's a totally different beast and wonderful.

Roja Dove loves Bel Ami. M is a lot like it, but it's a lot more concentrated and oriental than Bel Ami. I still prefer the compositional genius of vintage Bel Ami by quite a bit, but I like M, too. Different fragrances for different times. It's an absurd amount of money, but I look forward to smelling Fetish pour Homme.
