Default Kouros or Pierre Cardin Pour Mounsieur?

If you guys had to choose only one, which one would it be?

Pierre Cardin PM, and Kouros are truly underrated masterpiece classics. They could compete against other Niche perfumes out there in terms of scent, and even longevity.

Yes they have been reformulated, but they still have that classic rich exotic smell in them.

So if you had to choose one which one would it be?

Anything but Kouros; even Secretions rather than Kouros.

David Keep in mind Kouros is an animalic powerhouse. Kouros is not meant to get compliments, or smell like fruits. Kouros was meant to let Alpha females know that you're under the radar and you're ready for you know what if you know what I mean. It takes a certain character to pull this one off.

Hednic, are you talking about Kouros the latest version? or Vintage first original formula?

Assuming we are talking about vintage versions of both, while I like both I prefer the Pierre Cardin pour Monsieur (as it was one of my first experiences with perfume).

Dr. Seid on the vintage PCPM did you notice a big difference compared to PCPM made by 5 star? I heard it's mainly a longevity thing, but others say theres a small scent difference.

Kouros, and I definitely wouldn't call Pierre Bourdon's greatest fragrance and completely "novel, immediately recognizable, impossible to imitate" masterpiece underrated. :-)

I would love to try the original Kouros, and have YSL bring it back.

is there really a drastic difference between old and new forms of kouros (we're not talking about body kouros right?)

My only experience is with the vintage so I am afraid I can't make the comparison...

Pierre Cardin Pour Monsieur. It's easier to wear, and fits in with my style.

As a young man, I liked and wore both in the 80's when they were big, i remember liking Pierre Cardin a bit more. (Lagerfeld Classic was my 3rd favourite).

I'm a bit surprised how many Basenoters dislikes Kouros. I remember in the 80's it was very popular night out scent which girls loved on guys, it was considered as a very sexy masculine young mens' scent. Don't remember anybody especially hating it. It apparently still sells very well to masses being one of the most sold fragrances ever.

Love both. I'd likely be hard-pressed to pick *anything* over Kouros, but PCPM is probably a more versatile scent. My Kouros bottles are '99 and '2004 vintages - both are excellent. Have both Five Star EDC and French EDT versions of PCPM. Prefer the EDT which has a deeper, richer character to me plus better longevity (as expected).
