Default L'Homme Sage - Absolutely Amazing

This has to be one of the best fragrances for men that I have ever smelled.
Very masculine and sexy without smelling like an old man.
The mandarin and the lychee give the overall fragrance an amazing fresh and fruity vibe.
    The incense is spectacular.
The quality of ingredients is among the best.
I have never smelled anything like it.
    Totally satisfying.

This masterpiece is in the same league as Invasion Barbare.
And nobody is talking about it.
    I can't stop smelling myself.

Easy to like straight off the bat this one is. A good fruity slightly sweet spicy balmy fragrance.

I have tried this and think it's a wonderful scent. Wish it came in a larger size.

    A perfect description.
Chances are high that I may buy a bottle.

I had this once. I really liked the smell, but it faded really quickly on my skin. Maybe it's just my chemistry.

Performance on me is very good. Quite strong.

Total unsung masterpiece, one of my "very favourite" scents ever - so favourite I actually don't even wear it anymore.

    It comes in 100ml?

Very nice smell, but just like Chuck, very short lasting on my skin. I went through a decant, but decided it wasn't worthy of a full bottle.

+1. I sold my bottle. It didn't match my skin chemistry very well either.

Great stuff and very long lasting on my skin. It got a lot of airtime on BN 2-4 years ago.
    On my to-buy list.

Thumbs up Re: L'Homme Sage - Absolutely Amazing

I use to wear L' HOMME SAGE often. It is one of my must have
Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

I remember when this was a big hit around here - lots of interest. The threads are probably very old and hard to find, but there was some talk about it back then.

I will make sure and give this a sniff!

Would have been nicer without that lychee note but that's just my opinion. Enjoy your bottle!

Yes, it's a good niche specimen.

This became annoying very quickly for me. Something about the dried dusty fruit contained a synthetic element that bothered me every time I wore it. I actually owned a bottle and sold it. I really liked it based on a sample I had, but after a while, that synthetic aspect sort of ruined it for me.

I don't even know if "synthetic" is the right word. It was like this grating imitation of something that just missed the mark, and once I noticed it, I couldn't get it out of my mind.

Glad you like it though. I can see why people do.

i owned the 100 ml splash bottle a couple of years ago. From what I remember I loved the opening, but the dry down had a really funky aspect to it that I didnt' like. I also remember wearing this a few times and got really negative reactions to it. Could have been a skin chemistry issue, but it really soured on my skin.

Can someone clarify if any of the men's fragrances from this house come in 100ml sprays? Not interested in the splash. I was under the impression from the time this line was launched years ago that the sprays only came in 50ml. Their website only seems to list the 50ml spray.

I am under the impression it only comes in 50ml EDP with a 100ml splash. I have not seen anything else in this line.

It isn't sour at all, it's a skin chemistry thing.
The same thing happened to me with a Carolina Herrera fragrance.

Own and love this one....A bit tricky though to wear in the heat down here in Florida...It can be a bit cloying...To me, this one has a LDDM vibe to it....but MUCH better...

I can see how it reminds you of LDDM because of the amber and the incense.
    But it's very different.

I agree with you on both of these points. Probably the reason I got so many negative comments on it. Although I like LADDM quite a bit more.

Well, the thing is, and you know this, silentrich....Everything is subjective on here and what smells great on my skin, may not smell that great on yours...Someone's scent panacea is probably somebody ELSE'S garbage.....It's weird how that happens but kinda cool that we all have likes and dislikes and they differ tremendously....

Its a little easier to wear, I think though, versus LDDM...LDDM has this "spit note" that I cannot seem to "get around" or tolerate.....Its really tough to find places to wear LDDM but L'one you can wear pretty much daily if you wanted....I personally reserve this one for the Fall and Winter seasons but have worn it a few times in the heat at times and it can be cloying but definitely bearable....

Weird that I would see this thread and sample it a few days ago (random from Luckyscent). Honestly, it wasn't bad but it didn't wow me. I will not buy a full bottle but I can see why someone would recognize this as pleasant.

Have it, love it, running low. I particularly like the immortelle in this. It's not going to smack you upside the head like Goutal's Sable, but it's there and done quite nicely.
