Have you worn it yet?
thought I would share some photos of a bottle and box of Mitsouko I purchased recently. I believe the seller's parents used to have a store somewhere in South America. I think this bottle is about 50 years old. Very unusual with the "stamps" on the back of the bottle. The box and inner cardboard are very heap by today's standards. I have no doubt the item is authentic.
Have you worn it yet?
I smell marshmallows!
Thanks for that.
I have worn it around the house on three or four occasions. I find it to be a warm, comforting, well balanced and inoffensive scent. I don't have enough knowledge or expertise to really distinguish notes, accords etc.
Lovely Paul P enjoy! Mitsy is one of my favourites.

Congratulations! The bottle is 100% authentic, was the bottle sealed when you got it?
But secretly we are screaming, 'Why can't I find something so fabulous!!!!' LOL
Congrats, Paul - it will be interesting if you can find out when it was made as it looks older than fifty years to me!
Thanks to all. Kind words much appreciated.
yes bottle was sealed when I purchased.
I'm not sure where to start looking for that information. The seller's grandparents used to have a perfume store, and he ended up with all this inventory when the store closed and his grandparents passed away. The auction page claims it is 50 years old. That's all I know.
I can remember them from the 1960's/early 1970's & didn't see any with labels like that - although I'm no expert.
There is a member who is an expert on these oldies so maybe she'll see the thread.
How did it hold up? Sometimes EDT is a little shaky compared to parfum. But vintage is definitely the way to go with Mitsouko. Congratulations!

Those old black-and-white labels were around until the end of the 1970s.
Hope it's still smelling good! Even if the bergamot and florals are somewhat damaged, you should still be able to enjoy some wonderful oakmoss and musks.
kumquat : yes, it seems to be ok to my nose. It is certainly cologne-like in its intensity and sillage. I find it to be pleasant and well balanced, but weak.
saminlondon - to my nose the top notes are present and intact.
