Available in the US market late 2014 exclusive launch to the Middle East market. :0)

The edp release is so important that it warrants an exclusive Middle East release? I do like the idea of going in the edp direction instead of the sport. I bet they change the name to bleu intense when it come to the American market though.

This, although I'll probably still sample it.

So they reformulated bleu? Is this supposed to be different? The bottle needs more styling, lol.

With the success that Armani has had with Acqua di Gio Essenza, an eau de parfum of Bleu, that other best seller in the US, was a matter of time. I have a friend who is a huge fan of the original, and I'll have to tell him about this.

Will sniff it once it comes to the US.

I like Bleu. But I don't know if a more concentrated version would be too much. It's strong on me with 2-3 sprays.

I'm hoping Chanel didn't ruin BLUE because I like it and seeing these 2 words together (Amber+wood) scares me!

I really disliked the original (and the pressure of salespeople to spray me every time I came near telling me how good it was really irritated me), but an edp with a somewhat different profile may prove more interesting. I am not going to hold my breath (or maybe I will! LOL) for much improvement but will sample before I decide. I expect another generic crowd pleaser but we shall see.

I'd be happy if this was exactly the same as the original with less projection. I'm sitting in my coffee shop now wearing Green Irish Tweed applied 40 minutes ago. There's a guy sitting 10 feet away from me and all I can smell is Bleu. Super strong projection.

Other than Sycomore they haven't made a great masculine since Egoiste in 1990. Bleu de Chanel is another disinfectant made for the mall loitering masses. It used to be one of the two or three greats, but Chanel is not far from becoming a second rate perfume house. Most of the men's and women's classics have been poorly reformulated. The only thing saving them is the Les Exclusifs line, but most of those have been sanitized as well. Maybe the new in-house perfumer Olivier Polge can dream something up. Right now there's absolutely no comparison with Guerlain, nor Dior and Hermes.

I wish GIT had that same projection....I smell nothing after 30 minutes....Very disappointing especially at that price point....

FWIW I actually agree with the synthetic comment, but the same can be said of many scents. I'm sure some people choose to avoid BdC simply because it's a very popular mainstream scent. The bottom line is whether or not one finds it enjoyable. Personally, I like it and will be very interested in trying flankers, diff concentrations, etc.

Looking forward to trying this out as well. Really like the normal one, but I feel neither projection nor longevity is what I really wanted from it. I've also been surprised by other heavy-sprayers not getting their average silage out of Bleu.

Yeah, Shame on Chanel for making a fragrance which is popular with the common people, who clearly have no taste, unlike us superior Basenoters.

And if you listed the fragrances you love many members on here could pick that list apart. The days of Egoiste are long gone. As much as I love it it's not a modern smelling fragrance. I'm more of a 90's guy myself, but some of the younger members are cutting their teeth on these fragrances and as much as you don't like the trend it's here to stay. What bothers me the most is the amount of flankers and how close they are to the originals.

you mean chanel started to make good fragrances since PE (93') after they decided they should try to make something that actually smells good, and not the ugly stuff for basenoters that will come to the world with the evolution of the internet
