Thread: Alcoholic notes

    Default Alcoholic notes

Anyone have any recommendations for fragrance oils, aromachemicals, and/or mixtures of scents that can provide a good boozy note? Juniper for gin I do know, and I've heard acetaldehyde works.

Could be a nice part of what you want...?

I'll be putting up my own Rum accord there soon too, which incorporates this rum ether... Maybe in a topnote version and a long lasting version.

I guess it depends on the booze youíre after. Davana is good for giving a sort of mulled-wine effect that can be pushed in other directions depending on the rest of the blend. There are also what are called Cognac Absolutes (green and white) that are actually made from the lees of wine: both have a distinctly boozy note.

Green Cognac Absolute almost makes me thirsty when I smell it. My mouth waters.
