    Smile Fantastic service from Serge Lutens

    I'm in the UK and purchased a bottle of Santal de Mysore from the online Serge Lutens store.
    The perfume duly arrived via UPS with various free gifts but a smaller bottle than I had ordered and paid for.
    After advising SL via email and sending some photo's of the package contents they have apologised for the error and are sending out the correct bottle. They have also said to keep the bottle sent in error as a gift!!

    Fantastic service from a dream house perfumer.

    How smaller size?

    They only have one size.

    Apparently not. I ordered the bell glass bottle[75ml] and received a spray bottle[50ml] which isn't actually listed in that size on the website.

    You are very lucky.

    I have had few wrong deliveries also but always had to send the wrong bottle back even the one that was broken during transport (ausliebezumduft.de). That was a lot off hassle....

    Not lucky, its just shows that Serge lutens understand the principle of customer service.

    That's how good customer service is supposed to work.
    Remember that while it is perfectly acceptable to criticize the content of a post - criticizing the poster is not.
    Mean spirited, nasty, snide, sarcastic, hateful, and rude individuals don't warrant or deserve other individuals' acknowledgement or respect.

    I wanted to see if the bottle he got was from the old stock.

    The logo on the sticker of the bottle would determine that.

    Excellent to hear.
    Santal de Mysore is my all-time favourite, so in case you need a loving home for the 50ml bottle, I promise to take good care of it.
    I have nothing but the highest praise for the outstanding service offered by Serge Lutens, and am hoping to make a pilgrimage to the Palais Royal wonderland sometime in the next few months.

    Nothing to do with profit margins more to do with the long term investment to customers who will return to spend more with them instead of the dreaded 'bay.

    Rowannicus: sorry its also my new favourite so it will be used over next few months. Good luck with the visit to Palais Royale. I'm envious.

    I didn't doubt their motivation for granting you the bottle. I just made a conclusion on the context which makes this gesture possible.
