    Default Urban cyclist scent recommendation?

I'm looking for new cycling scent.

My cycling is of the calm tweed variety, gently pottering for a cup of tea, spot of lunch, fetching croissants in the morning, maybe popping out for a pint with mates or soiree with wife, coffee with Treasure and newspaper, etc.

Choice of steed for these activities is either a classic Pashley Guv'nor or the ultimate gentleman's city bike, the Brompton. Dress code being mainly city casual, slacks, short sleeved shirts, etc. Jacket, merino jersey and This is Cambridge caps when required by the weather.

So, my version of cycling is far away from spandex, sweat and aero helmets or the mad/bad world of bike messenger types on their fixes. I’ve read and I believe understood the Rules of Velominati, it’s just that I do my rule #5 work in the gym and my interpretation of rule #33 is not to wear shorts or short trousers outside the privacy of my home or training.

I'm currently using TF Neroli Portofino (also) as my cycling scent. I do like it; it fits the occasion to a decree.
However, I'd like to have a new one.

Based on the above, what would you recommend?

As said Neroli seems to work, also the Tauer Vetiver Dance seems like a possibility. However, since I'm looking for a scent to be used with British steel, sometimes wearing tweed I'd 'haps like a bit more Bulldog Drummond tossed in and UK sourced scent.

EDIT: noted that my expression is faulty, when saying "UK sourced" I meant to ask for scent/house that is from the UK.

Blenheim Bouquet sounds right up your street.

    ..or Sartorial would be good.

For a somewhat deeper, more structured citrus, I'd say Ormonde Jayne Tiare. For something even deeper, perhaps a light leather like Heeley Cuir Plein fleur.

Again, thank you all for your contributions!

Must confess that I took the easy way out and ordered samples from Penhaglion. Their sample packet contains both Blenheim and Sartorial.

I kind of imagine green irish tweed working well in your case.

    Default Urban cyclist scent recommendation?

So, my samples arrived this morning. I did apply very little Blenheim Bouquet immediatelly. First impression was not that good, just some clean citrus. After gym and shower it was time for run two. A bit more this time, I'm now waiting for wifey in coffee house and I think this will work. Few more test runs on bike and 'haps I'll order a full bottle.

I also opened the Sartorial sample, but that had a tad more formal air to it.

Once again, thank you all for expertice and effort!

Epic Woman - great for medium impact physical exertion with timely, responsible breaks for a latte or whatever

If you're one of those who get scared when you see 'Woman' or 'Pour Femme' on a bottle then by all means keep your distance. If, on the other hand, you are reasonably open minded and have tried enough stuff to realize that a lot of stuff marketed to women is considerably more adventurous and full bodied than the vanilla and cedar bombs that men get saddled with then give it a shot.

I find this one has a vaguely herbal, rustic 'medicinal' kick - I would describe it as having 'fortitude' It's more nuanced than Epic Man but retains some of the solid backbone that makes that one popular.
