Chanel Coromandel followed closely by Mazzolari's Patchouli.

Other strong contenders are Dior's Patchouli Impérial and Lutens' Bornéo 1834.

I love patchouli and aside from the fact that there is no such thing as the best in live, I enjoy i.a. (single patch)

    Réminiscence - Patch (femme, EDP)
    Montale - Patch Leaves
    Nicolai - Patch (Homme/Intense)
    Villoresi - Patch
Currently wearing: Sahara Noir by Tom Ford

For me it's Murdocks Patchouli which is very earthy and low key, it never overwhelms but is subtlely blended amongst other notes but is still the spicy heart of the fragrance.

There are some florals in the midnotes mixing with the earthy spicy patchouli which is probably what is giving the scent that freshness in the opening. In the basenotes you can smell the earthy patchouli on a light bed of Frankincense and I have to say it smells really nice and very easy to wear.

Hi Francolino. For me it is ETRO Patchouli. It has a great true patchouli with a notable geranium note which makes it slightly aromatic.

Patchouly by Profumum Roma. It's a beautiful composition, very earthy/wet clay feel to it with a strong, not overpowering incense note. I like this one because its not leathery like a lot of patchouli scents. On my fall/winter buy list
    Seasonal rotation:

    Ciel Man
    Windsor
    Scandal Pour Homme
    Santal Imperial
    Millesime Imperial
Currently wearing: Orange Spice by Creed

The best ones for me are Patchouli Nobile, Etro Patchouli, Borneo 1834, Patchouly Indonesiano, Villoresi's Patchouli.

There are quite a few to choose from. However, as to which is the best, it's down to what sort of fragrance you'd like to see this note mixed up in. Here are some of my favourites which should hopefully help:

    - Leather/Patchouly: Givenchy Gentleman
    - Raw patchouly: Murdock's Patchouly
    - Sweet/vanilla mix: Creed's Aventus

I'm not the biggest fan of patchouli, but I LOVE the way it's used in Masque Milano Montecristo!

I was quite impressed by April Aromatic's Bohemian Spice—a very dirty kind of patch, but some personal favorites of mine include:

The Body Shop—Patchouli (from the '90s)
    Mazzolari Lui
    Intrigant Patchouli
    SMN Patchouli

    I don't like strong patchouli
