I need some advice on the best place to spray for power house fragrances. I really enjoy 2 of recent decant acquisitions (MAAI, Or du Sureil) but they are so strong that even 1 spray to the base of the neck gets very cloying after awhile. So much so that I had to wash them off after a couple of hours. They were still easily detected in the hours to follow and it was quite pleasant. How can I apply these to get the same enjoyment without having to wash them off first? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Spray your wrists or forearms. Inner elbow works well too. Maybe try back of your neck.
Anywhere where it won't be directly wafting up to your nose and overwhelming your smell.
I like tops of forearm or wrist because I can pull it to my nose and take a whiff whenever I feel like it.
On the chest (under your shirt) works well for powerhouse scents because your clothing holds back the projection while giving you nice, subtle wafts all throughout the day. For those fragrances that require more than one spray, you can try one spray to the chest and a half spray to each forearm.
Under the shirt on the chest has been the best place for me. I wear a suit and tie to work everyday, but I still get nice wafts of my SOTD almost constantly. Nothing overly strong, and what I imagine my sillage smells like rather than a direct nose hit. I get enough that I can't imagine there is no projection or sillage anymore, so I still think others are able to smell my fragrance at work.
A belated viewpoint of mine, according to some powerhouse situations noticed so far: wrists, earlobes, neck and perhaps also chest work well, just like in the case of any other fragrance. Just any tiny word of caution: fewer sprays and/or dabs will do in these particular areas, especially in the case of powerhouses like Salvador Dali PH, Drakkar Noir, RL Polo Green and a few more along these lines.
Good suggestions all round. Find that sweet spot further away from your nose. Personally I've tried abdomen, ribs, lower back, back of the knees. Walking through a mist works too for strong fragrances.
Try misting. Spray a cloud into the room and walk through it.
This is a good option.
