    Default Dsquared Wild

Designer duo Dsquared introduces its new fragrance called Wild, which will be released in September 2014. The new masculine fragrance symbolizes freedom, speed and pride, presented by photographs of wild stallion and model Silvester Ruck, signed by Steven Klein.

“It’s a raw roll in the hay — the whole idea is to be a bit raw. Even the bottle is kind of harnessed”.

The woody - earthy fragrance is created by Daphne Bugey and Annick Menardo.

Notes: Santolina, st. John’s wort, resin accord, cypress, neo-labdanum, opoponax, vegetable amber and humus accord.

Very interesting notes. This is seems like a must try.

I'm always interested in fragrances from Dsquared as they are pretty decent. The notes look very unusual and I cannot help wonder what the scent will smell like. Cheers for the heads up, will check this one out when it is released.

A naked man and a horse - talking about a "raw" roll in the hay?

Sounds like a good time if that's your thing (I mean, who am I to judge?), But I think as far as the scent goes, this will probably be a pass for me...

That's Humus, not Hummus Meaning "peaty" as the best possible smell, and just plain dirt at it's worst.

I would have said Labdanum, if they hadn't already listed some sort of Labdanum as another note.

Love the art direction on this.

I personally don't like any of the DSquared scents (although I love their clothes). Of course Menardo is a wonderful perfumer so I will definitley sample it.

Looking forward to this, I love the smell of St. John's Wort and have never seen it used in a men's fragrance before. St. John's Wort is powerful stuff and I hope it's not headache inducing.

I would be curious to try it. Dsquared has been a hit or miss house for me so far. And so is annick menardos work to be honest. I am a huge fan of Black, but other stuff like Body Kouros I could surely do without.

Also, thanks for clarifying the "hummus" note, haha. For a second I was like, HUH?!

Anybody have a sample of Martin Margiela Untitled or Untitled L'Eau? I'm dying to smell these and I've got lots of great niche samples to swap!

Sounds interesting. Potion Black was a big step up from the rest of their offerings, so hopefully this one will continue in the right direction.

The note breakdown of St. John’s wort, resin accord & opoponax seems interesting to say the least, including the fact that anything done by Menardo has got my attention. I just hope that this scent has a wider distribution than Potion Royal Black.

Are you familiar with fashion from the last 10, 15 years?

The dsquared silhouet is for sure immediately recognizable and is very successful. It balances fashion as a creative art form, uniqueness, outstanding craft in the best way and uses the most exquisite materials. It doesn't take fashion too serious. It's great! I love it but you don't have to share my vision.

    What's yours?

I guess time will tell to what extent the duo have / will continue to 'write history in fashion' I suspect it may be more of a footnote. Quite interested to try this new one nonetheless.

I respect your opinion of course and for me it has nothing to do with writing history or not. It was just a manner to express myself in a language that is not my native tongue and a way to state that I think they mean much more as a fashion duo than as creators of scents and I think they will for many, many years to come. That's all.

Would rep this if the forum had such feature. Not necessarily think the same, but I respect your position on this!

By the way, if I had to pick a designer that has left an increadible mark on street fashion in general, Diesel instantly comes to mind And then again, their scents are mediocre at best...

I used to wear the Diesel Black Gold Line. Still love them now but leaving it for the younger crowd.

Quite a lot of horsing around in this thread. I'd like to pony up the dough for this one, but only if it's a stable composition. With the release of the surprisingly good Potion Royal Black, it really seems like this is the hay day for DSquared perfumes, but no doubt it will have to jockey for position amougst the slew of recent designer fragrances.

Dsquared2 Wild is a more elegant and sophisticated version of Versace Man Eau Fraiche / Azzaro Chrome Sport. I would describe it as woody aquatic. It starts off with a whisper of fresh incense (similar to that in Loewe 7), then becoming citrusy in a sour way with a hint of earthy vetiver. The combination if citruses reminds of that in Versace Man Eau Fraiche and especially in Azzaro Chrome Sport, though Dsquared2 Wild is more mature due to vetiver and more prominent woody herbal twist in the base. The quality of the fragrance is high, but the longevity and sillage are not that good, unfortunately. However I incline to like it than not to like.
