Still relatively new and finding my way, so yesterday (which... is not today, but perhaps still fits the spirit of the thread) I ordered from Decant Shop the following samples: Azzaro Pour Homme, Caron Yatagan, Channel Antaeus, Guerlain Derby, John Varvatos Vintage, Knize Ten, and Lalique Encre Noire. Still also want to try Curion (which has apparently become a holy grail - to make things even more unattainable, I don't use EBay because I hate PayPal with a passion), Esencia by Loewe, and Francesco Smalto.

IMO, you should really give Hanae Mori HiM a try. HM (to me) comes off as an overly sweet lemon meringue pie. HiM, on the other hand, is a woody, spicy, warm, cinnamon-y amber, with some tonka and teak wood. On surface, it's similar to Gucci pour Homme II, the blue bottle, but it's actually a lot more complex than that. And, it's big, projects well, and last 14+ hours - the EDP at least (they have an EDT also, but I went for the EDP the day HiM was released).

I sniffed HiMat the Annapolis Nordstroms when it first came out and thought it was nice but okay. I may have to get my nose on it again.I have owned HM before. I bought HM again (the EdP this time) because I LOVED it when I owned it but it just wouldn't last on me. I think that if I owned it now, it would fare better on my skin as I take better care of myself as well as knowing when and what season is the best time to wear a given fragrance for me to get the most out of it. The EdP is insurance

Also had to show great restraint to not also bring home some Dior Homme and Creed Original Santal along with it! Ahh, maybe next month.
