Default Scents that you wear for other people?

There are scents we love. Scents we always enjoy wearing. But then there are also scents we don't really enjoy but other people enjoy on us, so we wear them for others to enjoy, be it your friends, significant other, etc.

For me, I don't really like Polo Blue, but it's my most complimented fragrance in my collection. Girls go crazy over it.

I own samples of Paco Rabanne's Invictus, and plan to buy it. The scent is ok, but it's also a scent that the ladies go crazy over.

I have other scents that i enjoy and people compliment as wellm but these are 2 that I find ok, but others find amazing.

So what are some other scents in your collection that don't wow you but wow others?

I understand why some people would do this, but I wouldn't. Even sampling can be difficult for me: whole day with a dull fragrance can be surprisingly annoying. This might not be a problem if you aren't a fervent wrist-sniffer like me. There is this slight melancholy in wasting a fragrant day with something ordinary.

None. When I'm purchasing a fragrance my personal enjoyment is paramount - impressing other people is the last thing on my mind.

My inner circle of friends knows I enjoy fragrances. Sometimes, they request for me to wear something they have liked from my collection but, these are scents I have bought because I really like them. I do not buy perfumes on request nor do I buy to impress others.

My girlfriend many years ago bought me Le Male which I did not like but had to pretend I did as it was a gift. So I tolerated wearing it for a few months here and there then accidentally on purpose I dropped the bottle so it smashed.lol...... Then I just pretended to be upset when she enquired where the bottle was a week later.lol

Paradoxically, both none and, from another viewpoint, all of them. Only refrain from wearing fragrances in case of fragrance-free environments, in case of illness (both if someone else is taken ill or if I am the one affected) etc., but aside from that, whenever fragrances are socially acceptable, I tend to simply wear them. However, if it indirectly turns out I have also worn them for the enjoyment of, possible compliments from etc. someone else, even better, but more like an added bonus, not a must.

Invictus, Southern Blend and Versace Eros. I didnt really like them at first, but my girlfriend likes them. And I like that look on her face when I wear them, so I then began to like them myself, just so I could see that look. So I am not sure if I am wearing them for her or me or both of us? But I like that look....

Nothing I have is disliked by me and worn for others, but I don't wear anything that others dislike. I also don't text during movies, fart at the dinner table, or put my feet up on another seat on a full mass transit vehicle. I find that I sometimes have to delay or limit my own actions so I don't offend others. I really need to develop a superiority complex.

The only reason you should wear a fragrance is because you like it.

Most of the ones I wear are liked by the people around me. If they might not like it, then it's too bad.

To the OP. Sorry but there are NO scents that I wear for other people. You're quite wrong to assume that others would even do this!

I buy a fragrance because I like it. I wear a fragrance because I like it, I couldn't care less if others like me wearing it! But then I'm not that self conscious!

Guess again I am the only odd ball....I do wear fragrances that my wife likes especially on "date night"....Why not? What's wrong with thinking of others and not yourself? But generally speaking though, I do not choose a fragrance based on compliments overall. I have a regular rotation of scents I enjoy that I wear regardless of what people like or don't like but when it comes to my significant other, I see nothing wrong with "thinking of her" and wearing something SHE likes. She wears sexy lingerie for me that I like....She could easily say "screw it"...Im going to wear baggie pajamas and you will like it on our special night, but I guess I'm cut from a different cloth. I think as a nation we do a great job of thinking about ourselves and but a horrible job in thinking of others....Maybe not with scents, but overall....lol...Man, I'm starting to get thoughtful all of a sudden...Sheesh

And this is why she wears sexy lingerie for you and you are getting some, while some people are still living in their Moms basement with their cologne collection watching porn...

Nothing wrong with your sentiment at all IMO even if it might not be mine. On the contrary, I find it quite admirable. As you said, and I agree some people are just cut from a different cloth.

I agree 100% with you. I'm ambivalent about Aventus, but I wear it for my wife. I wouldn't wear something I don't at least like, though.

I think it extends beyond borders, because the internet does that. Everyone has a voice, and for some reason they think everyone else should care what it says. Some people will care, some won't. I want to be recognized as unique... just like everyone else
