    Default Papillon Artisan Perfumes Anubis

I've seen PalmBeach doing this split with quite a few bottles being filled. Assuming fellow BNers have received them already.
What are your thoughts? Shame that only luckyscent carries it and nothing I can just take the train to smell in NY.

Thinking about just blind buying. would it be a wise choice?

Umm, think that was me doing the splits.

You may want to watch to see if Twisted Lily picks up the line at some point in the future.

I was part of one of PalmBeach's splits (Thanks!)

I actually really dislike the first 20-30 mins of the scent, something with the combination of leather and myrrh is too sharp for me. After the initial blast, the leather mellows out into a lovely soft suede and the lotus note picks up speed. Overall, a smoky suede with a floral touch, but still masculine leaning.

The main disappointment for me is the longevity on this scent. It is barely noticeable after about 4 or 5 hours, but this is my experience with many more natural perfumes.

I don't consider it a safe blind buy, as it is a rather different take on incense and/or suede. I will enjoy my decant but will not purchase a FB. Perhaps you can bet in on a split before springing for the bottle?

    ^^^^^

I actually liked the opening, but I have spoken with many people who feel the same as you do, they prefer it after the first 30 minutes.

It does becomes a skin scent in 4 hours or so, but holds to clothes rather well.

I picked up 10ml of Anubis as part of remik's recent split as a blind buy based on the reviews (mainly due to mentioning of a gasoline note). I don't get much gasoline in the opening, but half an hour into it, its presence is announced. My initial impression is good for this one. Interestingly enough, it's one of two fragrances I've tried so far that leave a heavy taste on my tongue (the other being Coach Leatherware No. 03), but it's not at all unpleasant.

I like the whole thing from beginning to end. Yes the sillage and projection drop significantly after 4 hours, but it clings to clothing well so I can still smell it on me at the end of the day lightly.
