    Question Pipettes

Please, kindly excuse question from DYI newborn.

I understand, that pipette is not possible to clean. So, I need one for each particular fragrance/mix/material...
My question is: If I use one pipette for one fragrance, is it possible to store it with the bottle and use it at next occasion for same liquid, or it has to be thrown away?

I understand, that it is very cheap item, but I am quite nervous to make too much garbage, especially plastic.

Then I would recommend something like these: https://shop.poulten-graf.de/en/oxid...2-ISO7712.html

They can be cleaned and reused if you have the time and patience.

You can keep it next to the bottle without washing if you want but it is not ideal because you can end up with degraded aroma materials building up on the pipettes. I do it anyway (don't tell anyone).

I keep the pipettor tips with the bottle and re-use them too. I do however rinse them with ethanol each time in and out. I cannot afford to keep buying and throwing away stuff and I don't like the plastic waste either for a mere hobby level user.

The day I make a perfume for someone who pays good money for it, is the day I would use new tips each time. For my own practice, no.

Thank you very much! I will do it also this way, and idea with ethanol-cleaning is great.

Renegade - thi is very interesting, I never seen pipettes like that. Just I not understand price - is for 1 piece, or 1 package of 1000pcs?

37,96 € for one pipette is too much, the price is for whole package ( 1000pcs )

Yes, but 37,96€ for 1000pcs seemed to me too good to be true...I think, I will try it.

The price would indeed be for 1000 pcs. I got 250 for €10.25 elsewhere. You will also need the little teats to draw up the liquid: like these. Not sure how many you get for that price, but you really only need a few, not one for each pipette. Happy pipetting!

I'm surprised no one uses a decent scientific lab pipette with the small, disposable tips. They aren't very expensive and much more accurate.

You'll find lots of us do, but not many want to make the big initial investment before knowing if the hobby is staying.
