Thread: Help critique my next purchases
My current small collection:
Creed Virgin Island Water
Creed Silver Mountain Water
Bond No 9 Eau De New York
Bond No 9 New York Patchouli
Bond No 9 Bleecker Street
Bond No 9 Coney Island
Tom Ford Tuscan Leather
Montale Intense Cafe
Creed Pure White Cologne
Le Labo Santal 33
Creed Jardin d’Amalfi
By Kilian Straight to Heaven
With the fragrances I already have, are any of these above redundant/unnecessary? Are they good purchases?
For example, I wonder if Jardin d'Amalfi is too similar to Eau De New York.

Remember that while it is perfectly acceptable to criticize the content of a post - criticizing the poster is not.
Mean spirited, nasty, snide, sarcastic, hateful, and rude individuals on Basenotes don't warrant or deserve my or other Basenoters' acknowledgement or respect.
IMHO, all good except for the Creed. It's not terrible but so, sooo overpriced for basically a generic skin scent with near zero projection.
Love your upcoming choices. All are pretty unique and unlike anything else in your existing collection IMO.
Current Spring Favorites:
1. Creed - Spice & Wood
2. by Kilian - Straight to Heaven
3. Dior - Vetiver
4. Clive Christian - 1872 for Men
5. Tom Ford - Grey Vetiver
6. Ermenegildo Zegna - Haitian Vetiver
7. Les Nez - Turtle Vetiver Back
8. Tom Ford - Rive d’Ambre
9. Creed - Green Valley
10. Parfumerie Generale - Grand Siecle Intense 7.1
If any, I second what already told by others, it seems too much to buy 2 fresh colognes, especially the White one, which to me doesn't have anything distinctive. Nothing wrong, but there are a few other classical Eau de Cologne that smell better (at least to me) and are cheaper, like De Nicolai Cologne Sologne, or even O de Lancome.
(Of course, if it were me, I would start from other perfumes from Le Labo and by Kilian-eg Patchouli, Iris, Pure Oud, etc-but that's just a matter of taste.)
I dont see any major reduncancy between what you're planning on getting and what you have.
I know Creed is very nice but have you considered exploring other houses?
Perhaps you could get the Le Labo & Kilian now and test a few other houses like Serge Lutens or Guerlain or l'Artisan Parfumeur first.
I also added Creed Green Irish Tweed in the list of my next purchase.
Next purchases all look like very strong choices. A very good assortment I don't see very much overlap that is so similar it would make any of the new purchases redundant.
They look good. Jardin d'Amalfi and Eau de NY aren't too similar IMO.
Personally I would go for Santal 33. Would not be redundant.
