Default Who are YOUR favorite fragrance reviewers on youtube?

My top 5 favorite to watch (in no particular order):

    1. Maximilian Heusler: https://www.youtube.com/user/mheusler | Very knowledgeable in a philosophical sense. Knows a great deal of history, has a unique style, covers the whole gamut of niche too.

    2. Redloessence : https://www.youtube.com/user/Redolessence | Steven is a great guy, very professional and sharp. Quality reviews and great presentation and research.

    3. Dracdoc: https://www.youtube.com/user/dracdoc | What can I say? I've never been disappointing with any of his videos. One of the very best.

    4. The Everyday Man (formerly whitespiritbear) https://www.youtube.com/channel/UClE...-wqLXKUvRwUTXA | Quite a down to earth guy, definitely check his content out.

    5. Fragrancefanatic ("Street Scents") https://www.youtube.com/user/FRAGRANCEFANATIC1 | Al might not be the most knowledgeable or have the best production quality, but nevertheless he founded the whole street review thing, and that takes a lot of effort to go out and approach so many people. Fun and original content

    Honorable mentions:

Max Forti: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCTw...dE5hL7puoNvktA | He's definitely rising and developing well. I like how he arranges his videos and keeps things consistent, really great guy.

    Natky2: https://www.youtube.com/user/natky2| I like her reviews, it's nice to have a female's perspective

Jeremy Fragrance: https://www.youtube.com/user/Jeremyfragrance | On the rise, has a sort of suave charismatic review style. Also does your basic life skills stuff.

There are many more, I could go on and on. Just the first few that came to my mind

What are your lists and favorites, and maybe why do you like them as a reviewer!!

The Fragrance Bros are very entertaining. I agree with your top 3. Maximilian is an excellent reviewer.

Being known for being "brutally honest" sometimes I'll have to say none!! Really! I watched a couple but saw very quickly that it was not for me. First I don't need anyone to tell me which scent is good and which one isn't. Plus I actually enjoy the "searching/discovery" phase. Second even if I would want to follow someone, I think they are very boring in general, and often only talk about very well known fragrances that we already know about ourself... With all due respect to them and their followers.

For example Al's videos are 8/10 about Creed. It's alright we know you love them! I don't need you to tell me for a 267th time that GIT is great. Then in his videos outside it's so damn loud around often you can not hear a thing they're saying. Finally he makes them smell the opening which to me is a huge mistake as it's the dry down, the phase the stays the longest that is interesting. And he put words into his guests' mouth and make them repeat their note 20 times saying "I respect that" 122 times while doing so.

Or you have "dracdoc" his videos are SO damn long!!! TOO long! Like one time I think he made a video to explain how to apply cologne... And it lasted like half an hour!!! You gotta' be kidding me.

The only ones I was able to ... respect and check, not their videos, but their lists of favourites to see if anyone went under my radar were "robes08" and "mrzayas81".

Fragrance Bros because they're brutally honest as mentioned and funny.
Al...Street Scents.. I respect that and don't rub it in.
MyMickers is just fun to watch.
Robes08 because he's very thorough when he reviews a fragrance.
CoachRob because I enjoy the intro and his take on fragrances.

Fragrancefanatic is terrible. His biggest pro is that he reviews great fragrances. His biggest cons: he's unprepared, constantly rambles on, and interrupts his guests.

I've never actually gone to YouTube to watch the reviews. Think I might start doing that, especially since this has been brought up here, and hubby has started watching them as well.

Fragrance Bros. with Jer. Without Jer it just ain't the same. He brings the best out of Daver.
MyMickers. Dan is great! He has a good nose and almost always describes fragrances as I smell them. Very entertaining.
    ManLovesCologne is ok.
Fragrancefanatic is entertaining with the Street Scents reviews

Most Youtube reviewers have become too boring, they take themselves far too seriously, and their videos are simply too long. I like Mymickers and Fragrancebros, even Daver by himself is doing a great job. These guys make me laugh, they don't take themselves too seriously and their videos are still plenty informative. Dracdoc and JeremyFragrance get honorable mention from me, too. Dracdoc for being professional yet still interesting and the series with his fiancee Becky have been great! JeremyFragrance has hit the ground running, is polarizing, and doesn't hide his reasoning behind wearing fragrances.

There is an art and skill to videoing yourself without it looking like total amateur hour. If you look at most guys first year of videos and fast forward to now there is a huge difference in their onscreen persona. That's why Jeremy gets props because he definitely isn't shy or awkward in front of a camera! At the end of the day it's really just entertainment and curiosity to see what certain reviewers think about certain fragrances. I don't trust any of their opinions enough to blind buy anything! It's still about sampling before I buy for me at this point in my fragrance experience.

Maybe if the people whos views I valued would make them, then I'd watch. Most video reviews either feel like they're unprepared or too rehearsed. Then there are the mm and uh awkward pauses and even more awkward hand sniffs...

Me watching a youtube video is like me asking random people on the street for their opinion of a perfume lol.

Generally, I think that male fragrance reviews are among the lowest quality content on youtube. That said, Hiro was by far the best, in my view, never made a bad recommendation, and I'm sorry he's retired. The American in Malaysia was ok too.

Katie is best-prepared, wonderfully articulate and funny, and it's that last part that sets her apart from most of the pedantic, humorless mediocrity that one sees far more often.

Oh, and then there's Freddy. He's not funny, but he's in a league by himself. Articulate, thoughtful, experienced, with a very developed sense of identifying notes and accords, I think that he's the dean of video reviewers. I don't run down the street to Barney's to buy what he likes as fast as possible, as I did with Hiro, but Freddy, to me, is the philosopher king of video reviewers and there's always something to learn from him.

I agree with Detox above -- So many reviews are simply too damn long. Outside of doing a Top 10 or Top 20, I think these guys would be doing themselves a favor to edit their reviews into the sub-5 minute range. That said, I really like:

    1. robes08: Covers a huge range of offerings, his haul videos are drool-inducing, and his French pronunciation is the best of the bunch (I'm assuming).

    2. FragranceBros: With or without Jer, always well done. Honest & down-to-Earth. Just watch their recent Clive Christian "V" video.

    3. Maximilian Heusler: Speaking of honest, Maximilian's commentary is as honest as it gets. Describing Nu_Be's Mercury: "Why anyone would want to produce this clusterf*ck is beyond my comprehension." Just wish he didn't focus the camera on the bottle the entire time.

    4. Redolessence: Pure class, and probably the best "total package" of the bunch. Steven speaks incredibly well, the videos are well shot and edited, and a clear format is usually in place (intro / presentation / smell / rating).

All the youtube reviews I've watched looked either boring or uninteresting, or both. Never found a youtube reviewer as much knowledgeable and skilled as my favourite bloggers/reviewers. I guess it's two separate worlds at all.

None. I am sure I have not seen even close to all the available options, but every time I give one a try I find the content severely lacking with respect to the kind of information I care about. I guess I'll stick to written reviews...

I don't like his street reviews, kind of point less just smelling the first few minutes. Also he needs to get off Luis's D from the Creed boutique... whats the point of asking the sales rep their opinion of their own fragrances?

Also he needs to keep them sunglasses on... his eyes look like he's been sniffing too much of that Grey Flannel.

Robes08 and that's it. I can't watch any of the others.

MyMickers especially annoys the shit out of me. For any of you that are from the metro Detroit area and can remember "The Ghoul Show" from the 70s, you'll find a striking similarity between the two. If you're not from the area, don't remember the 70s or simple aren't old enough - go to YouTube and do a search for it and you'll see.
