    Just curious!

Which fragrance do you think would be the signature scent of the President of a/your country?

Wasn't this thread created lately along with others like what would James Bond, Gandhi, Jesus, Jason Voorhees etc ... wear?

Anyway for my country's president it would be ELDO: Charogne (Rotting carcass)

I would imagine most politicians would wear nothing or else something light and inoffensive because of all the public interaction they have on a daily basis. I can't imagine the headlines if someone had an allergic reaction due to the president's cologne! I read somewhere that President Clinton wore Gendarme (or else went scent free) for this very reason (although I also read that Hillary Clinton wears Angel, so that might go against that theroy). Of course, well all know President Kennedy wore Eight and Bob (sarcasm) .

However, if I were to pick a fragrance for President Obama, I would imagine him wearing something like Bleu de Chanel or L'Homme because they are inoffensive crowd pleasers. Now that I think about it, he'd probably wear something by an American designer...maybe something from the RL Polo line.

Past Presidents....something classy, subtle, discreet, sophisticated and professional.

The current President....something loud, abrasive, off-putting, egocentric and attention mongering...not caring if the attention was positive or negative.

Sadly, the last and, in fact, all presidents of our country since the presidential function/institution exists, were completely secretive (and so was their entourage, family and friend circles) etc. about their fragrance choices or even if these fragrance choices existed in the first place.

However, a current official supplier of the former Romanian Royal dynasty is- according to an equally official list of such suppliers (somewhat similar to the list of suppliers of other European dynasties, most of us related to ours)- is Elysee Concept, a perfumery focusing almost exclusively on niche and authorized re-seller of Creed, Xerjoff, Amouage; so at least the fragrance tastes of the former royals can be narrowed down.

It might however be possible, given the both extensive and high quality amount of fragrance knowledge on BN that other Basenoters know far more about the fragrance preferences of my country's leaders than I know (with so much trivia and even encyclopedic, almost scientifically organized and documented amount of knowledge here, almost anything is possible to be found out).

@Ken_Russel have you seen this by the way? I noticed someone mentioning this somewhere... as far as I know some perfumes are also mentioned in the list?

I don't get the 'marine note' part.
It is true that fish stink. It is also true that the river is
beautiful. But the river would be beautiful despite the fish. What
    is noxious remains so.

That is not to say that sh*t is not useful when buried in the wheat
field. Bread made from the field tastes sweet, wine from the arbor
sweetest. All things serve a purpose, but that is no reason to
glorify what is abominable. A man must still watch where he walks
    and keep his sandals clean.
