It’s tragic to think that heroic man’s great destiny is to become economic man, that men will be reduced to craven creatures who crawl across the globe competing for money, who spend their nights dreaming up new ways to swindle each other.

Timed: One minute 20 seconds. Mostly because I have so many Ava Luxe samples and some of the writing is faded.

Shycat, thanks so much for providing some much-needed contrast in this thread! We should make your post into a sticky so we can feel better about ourselves any time we want.

l am slightly worried about those trailing wires in your bathroom, though.

Our ultimate demise once we get ourselves hooked to Luckyscent (or whatever online store you shop!)

Thankfully I freed myself from this prison state and couldn't be happier since. I'm several dozen samples lighter today then I was a year ago

I've did some serious house cleaning yesterday, which included rearranging my collection. Here are the results. Ironically, my latest bottle (Bois d'Iris) is missing since the postie just came minutes after I took the picture. All fragances are stored in IKEA Malm chests of drawers in a spare room.

Nastka, my arrangement looks a lot like yours -- though considerably less tidy. Mine have taken over all four drawers of a dining room console.

I like storing in drawers for the darkness factor and keeping them out of the way. But I absolutely hate being able to see only the tops of the bottles! I invariably wind up lifting three or four bottles before landing on the one that I want.

And samples -- well, I've nearly abandoned hope of ever getting them under control, no matter how many organizer trays I buy. Like others here, I think 2019 might be the Year of the Samples Purge for me. I'd like to find a method of giving them away to newcomers in the "Just Starting Out" forum.

Fanny, I just love your trays and bottle photos, so lovely. I need to revamp my perfume closet as there has been a bit of shifting of things in/out. Will try to take some pictures in the new year.

I just purged a huge bag of hundreds of samples, many dating back decades and which I will never use. I still haven’t figured out what to do with them but it feels good to have cleared some space in the closet.

I have the same feels even if the sheer amount of "things" in the photo spikes my anxiety a little. I work in IT and get the same anxiety rush when I see a coworker that has a browser open with 10+ tabs open or a desktop background full of random screenshots, files, and downloads.

Anywho, I can appreciate someone owning themselves like that. cheers.

I have most of my samples corraled in labeled ziplock bags by house--why it was kinda cheating to find Camisole that quickly. She was within arm's reach.

These super orderly pictures freak me out. Straight lines and symmetry make me panic--it makes me feel restrained and controlled. Not an emotional state I can exist in. If I had to keep my fragrances in drawers and look down on just the tops to choose...I'd just not have fragrances. My gut reacts very negatively--like a cruelty to the bottles, like they are buried in there without enough oxygen. My bottles feel tucked into bed in their own boxes, and happy in the closet--which even the astute will not have missed in my photo confession. No picture of the closet. Imagine: I drew a line of "this would be too embarrassing."

Quarry's picture of the beribboned tray with diagonal straight lines is the only one I've seen that appeals to me. There's an idea I will be copying, except with blue ribbon.

I have other plans, and limitless possibilities. Fear not for me, my (hopefully still?) friends. I can do anything I set my mind to, and by this time next year if not well before, there will be follow up "after" pictures.
