    Post Gucci PHII praise

This is just a thank you thread to everyone here. So many posts praised PHII so I added it to my list to sample at Nordstrom but they don't carry it, nor does any other brick and mortar. I went ahead and bought it blind and it is a great scent, definitely the best one I've come across so far.

I really don't understand why it's been discontinued. The reps in the dept stores say it's because it's so old but they still sell Eternity, which I wore decades ago. I don't get it.

Its very nice, and when I come back to it after a period of time, I get more smoky tea each time.
Very much reminds me of Tea for Two but brighter from the violet leaf.

I had it and reacquired a bottle because I like HiM but I just find it a bit harsh and "chemical," and prefer HiM by a wide margin at this point (needless to say, my bottle is on my sales page!).

It's my favourite scent, and I've almost finished my bottle. It hasn't been discontinued though. It is still available on the Gucci website, and can be found in some brick and mortar stores (in the UK at least).

Congrats on getting your bottle, it is one of the greatest newer releases IMO. Very fresh, but also works like a charm during the cold winters

I think I prefer the EdP but I haven't tested them enough, and I certainly wouldn't feel a great loss if I kept the EdT bottle and sold the EdP, for example (if it became some sort of highly-sought after scent and the prices went through the roof).

Great tea scent for the price and being from a designer house like gucci which I usually don't like besides GPHi and this. But Tea for Two kills this for me

Is Gucci pour Homme II really discontinued? I've seen a whole shelf of this at Century 21 for $49.99 each.

It's a Gucci mens' frag, so as sure as death and taxes, it will eventually be discontinued, but it hasn't happened yet. Plenty of stock at Sephora, the online discounters, ebay, etc.

GPH1 is discontinued. GPH2 is still for sale. I think there was some fear it was being discontinued a while back, but it's not the case as far as I know.

An amazing designer scent. A steal for the price imho. It's a very relaxing/soothing scent I wear around the house on lazy days.

Agree and have HiM EDP which lasts all day. Really enjoy it. The tea in GPII always came off as pickle juice to me..just off..but I enjoy other parts. But overall HiM is better for me.

As for GPII being discontinued. I see it everywhere and have yet to see this rumor come to fruition...and it's been around for over a year

Add me to the list of those who enjoy it very much and purchased a backup. People comparing Gph II to Hanae Mori HiM usually don't realize they're comparing top notes. These two scents smell completely different after an hour or two on skin.

Agree completely but they are in a similar vein to me and thus since the one has the tea issue with me I prefer the other. Sometimes I really want to get GPHII but that one note kills it for me...the rest is great,

To me, what you just said makes perfect sense. People say Gph II and Hanae Mori HiM smell the same, but that's silly. Gph II is a tea/tobacco scent. HiM has no tea and no tobacco. But the two do share some notes, especially at the top where the cinnamon and violet dominate, and if somebody likes that opening but doesn't want the tea from Gph II, or wants a different take on a scent with a similar-ish opening, then I'd definitely recommend sampling HiM.

To me, these two scents are like two people taking trips that begin at the same airport, but one person is flying to Savannah and the other is flying to Denver. Similar beginning. Different journey with a very different destination.

It's great scent and very nice bottle also.

I don't think its discontinued but Gucci tend to have a habit of phasing out fragrances after some time. Anyone liking this should ensure they stock up while it's around. Gucci prices tend to skyrocket when becoming discontinued. It's a respected fragrance among many basenoters but I'm not so sure it sells particularly well among the general public.

    Definitely agree.
The way the Gucci line is now, bottle design and the relative lack of quality it has the appearance that they have forgotten about Gucci Pour Homme II, and left it in the line.
Its one of my very few backups, and I get a good 6 hours from it out of 2 sprays on top of each other.
