I am solacing myself today with Sultan's Solace from AA. This has really developed since I bought it and then last tried it a few months ago.
Initially it had tons of smoke. Then a few months later the smoke had lessened and coca-cola had entered. Today I still find it similar to the last time I tried it but the cola note has smoothed out even more and seems sort of a longer living note now, deeper somewhat. Yummy.

Rania J. Oud Assam --- Hindi Oud, vetiver and powdery incense notes

I'm wearing some of an old limited distillation of Oud Kalbar from AA. This one stands out as the most powdery of all oud oils I have tried. Lovely soft florals and a non-vanilla sweetness juxtaposed with the ethereal notes that characterize Borneo oils. A highly prized but almost gone member of my collection.

@iris&oud: Rania J's Oud Assam is lovely! One of my favourites.

I wore Intiqaie today by AA. Amazing, one of my favourite attars out of all the ones I have (a substantial number).

Noor from Oudimpressions. Nice, well blended with top quality materials (pity about her non-existent customer service).

Agar Supreme from AA today. Loud and clear oud note going on here. This was the first of the three top shelf Malaysian oils from Taha over the past year. Not as creamy or sweet as the other two. Very woody and very spicy yet smooth as.

    Anyway - a very nice oil :)

@bigbloke, Rania J. is an underappreciated nose, in my opinion. Unfortunately, her scents are tough to get full bottles in Canada. Her samples are very affordable though. I think I paid around $18CAD for five spray samples, with free shipping. I look forward to trying her new tobacco scent sometime ...

Today, I received a lovely parcel from Sultan Pasha and I am weari g his Cafe Amber Noir attar --- wonderful for any coffee and gourmand lover!

@ iris&oud: I also bought the sample set, very cheap, 8 delivered! I have a decant and full bottle of Oud Assam, will be getting a backup bottle too :) Her Rose perfume is lovely too. The new tobacco ones sounds lovely too.

@bigbloke, I too love Rania J. Rose Ispahan --- sometimes I layer the rose over the Oud and it is heavenly!

Today I am enjoying some samples from Sultan Pasha, Jardin de Minuit and London Blend on either arm

JdM is a well blended floral, heavy on the tuberose and Jasmin, with a woody and mossy base. It makes me think of fairies in an enchanted, dark forest.

LB is a completely unisex blend of oud, rose, and frankincense, with just a brush of civet and a bit of clove. I can't compare it to the branded London Blend, as I have not smelled it, but I find this version very rich and comforting, like a warm pashmina.

Revisiting Kencana today. Less herbal than my last experience, smoother and the nuttiness has settled.
