Some oils were deliberately fermented, some weren’t. He sold sets of oils - same wood, different amounts of soak and ferment. I smelled some funky ones from feel oud and some very clean sweet woody and floral oils as well.

Thank you Mr.P! I know Russian Adam has an affinity for barnyard funk so I always wondered if that played out with his Oud kind of the same way Zakir does it with Agarwood Assam. I started my Oud journey with all the funky Hindi style soaks but I recently discovered Oud Royale 04 and now I’m on the hunt for more of that jungle floor/moss/wet woods vibe instead of animalic profiles.

Then Green Papua by EO is the best option. I am talking about the old version; new one I haven't tried.

Wearing straight up Champa Attar from India (the traditional stuff - Champaca distilled into Sandalwood). One of my favorite scents of all time. Just gorgeous and manages to stand up to the heat and humidity.

    Santal and Musk Tincture:
Layered them, and musky tincture is dominant.

Wore my Elixir Attar Cambodian Koh Kong oil last night. I layered it with SLA Manipur edition and the combination was stunning.

    Dream Gate by Laurent Smal.

@ SOB111 Those Laurent Smal bottles are just gorgeous, I would love to try some of his stuff but it's totally out of my budget margin How do the oils compare with something like Sultan Pasha ?

The LS bottles are very lovely. Henry Jacques bottles are the only other ones that come close.

It is very hard to compare SP and LS. Firstly, Sultan Pasha uses a plethora of different ingredients in a single composition, whilst LS fragrances tend to use a much smaller number of (very very high quality) ingredients. If you look at the note breakdown for Chavel D'Arabia - there is more listed in the top notes then the complete list (top to base) for a LS fragrance. One of LS's amazing fragrances is Flying Jasmine - its pretty much a soliflore (jasmine with ambergris and orris) - but it is perfectly executed. My personal preference is for these types of "less complex" scents that use high quality ingredients and are perfectly blended/executed. Some people however, might find them "boring" or linear.
