Personally not a fan if you are talking about the one that came out in the early 90s.

It's been a few years since I smelled it, but I liked it the last time that I tried it. I need to revisit that one, though....because I've heard that it's been reformulated, and supposedly the latest formulation isn't the best, Of course, that's what I've heard from someone else....and my opinion may differ from that opinion.

I'm not sure about original formula. I have a bottle of Herrera for Men that my Dad let me have. It was/is his signature scent for... years? It reminds me of him.

I'm actually expecting a bottle of the rare Concentrée type to arrive, .

They redid the bottle a couple years ago. The 1 oz and 1.7 oz bottles are flat and thing now like the Aqua one, not sure if they did it with the 3.4 oz too. Juice smells the same though. Personally, I love this fragrance, I think it may even be better than Havana

Liked it on each testing occasion during the 90s, would perhaps buy it if this formulation became available.

In the early years of Basenotes this one was one of the most talked about fragrances on Male Board, much like Aventus now. Sic transit Gloria mundi, now it is barely remembered.

I've never tried this one. I've heard about it here. It smells similar to Havana?
My signature is written in ancient Aramaic using invisible ink that's scented by a unique and secretive combination of birch tar and saffron infused with a wispy rendition of garlic.

I like the tobacco in this one. I get caramel in the dry down. It's a good one

Vintage Carolina Herrera is similar to Vintage Ungaro III. UNGARO IS MORE FLORAL AND GOTHIC

It was my favorite when it came out, but I was too poor to buy it then. However, it made me respect Carolina Herrera, then buy 212 when it came out

I've been enjoying this for a few weeks now. Prior to obtaining the yellow pokey dot box, I had the newer version. This is definitely reformed. Not sure how anyone can say otherwise...

I got mine without box, code is 7CO2, which is supposedly from 2007. It begins citrus/light herbal, a hint of sweetness, and later the tobacco comes out. This doesn't seem to be the kind of scent one would expect to be reformulated badly but perhaps they wanted it to smell different. Can anyone speak to the major differences in the newest formulation?

I had a bottle of the original formulation back in my college days. I wore it almost daily and remember it being versatile. It was my signature for a long time. Several ladies from my past would always compliment me on the 'classy smell' as they put it. Herrera for Men will always be part of my memories related to that time.

I don't have a batch code on my vintage box. 1999 is trademarked on it. The box came wrapped in cellophane. Several things about it look odd. The sticker on bottom of bottle seems sliced off at an angle, incomplete. The bottom of the box has 2 stickers placed on it. The one on the top right has a hole cut in the box underneath the sticker. The box also had 2 rough strips encircling the box. Has a textured 3D feeling like brail. Opinions? It smells very good... I am impressed by it. Wondering if this could be an old counterfeit simply based on the things shown in the picture below.

Mmm.. maybe it's an older grey/gray market bottle, and identifying information was cut from the bottom of the box, as well as part of the label on the bottom of the bottle that has/had the (batch) code. The two strips.. I'm not sure, maybe it was a clearanced/liquidated item maybe prior to grey/gray market? My Versace Eros box has two vertical strip(e)s on it or w/e.

Yes, that's what I was thinking. Looks like the sticker on the upper right, which has the hole cut underneath, might have been where the batch code was.

Looks like the packaging / bottle changed a few times. I have the same bottle as in the original PIC, but the box was brown with black polka dots. Have never seen the square bottle - guess this is when the reformulation happened.

Actually recently finished a bottle and not planning to re stock. A good scent, but for me there are too many other scents to try. I've seen it compared to platinum egoiste and there is a similar dry, Herby, classy early 90s vibe (with the addition of tobacco of course)

I just got a 30ml vintage version of this and my initial thought upon first wearing, is that it's a great tobacco scent for spring! I get strong impressions of Burberry London from the opening. It quickly evolves into a slightly cloved & dry tobacco musk. The sillage lifts tinged wafts of lemon, neroli & geranium. It's a typical skin scent fragrance which needs heat to fully bloom.

Unobtrusive, refined & familiar from the first whiff.
