    Default Shiseido Bravas - thoughts?

Shiseido Bravas - All I found was a single review on BN & nothing on Fragrantica either, which is surprising.

I recently bought this & I would say this is a chypre in the same realm as Gucci Pour Homme 1976 version, but not as strong as that and without the nice leather in the dry down. The opening of Bravas was what reminds me a lot of GPH but the citrus elements are not as sharp / deep as GPH or as complex in totality either. But a thoroughly enjoyable start for sure.

Who else owns this & can provide more input?

Don't own this, but all I was able to find was that it was released in 1969 and is a citric floral chypre EDT for men and is discontinued. Same info you found, right?

Hednic - I've tried this just once & that too after a day of stressful work; so applied a few dabs before bed. So all I recall is the wonderful start, the development coincided with my developing sleep

Dry down still has a bit of the citrusy oakmoss, but terribly light. Going by that I would assume longevity at around 4-6 hrs max. Will need to test at a more leisurely time to see the development.

How come you don't have this??? I know Basala is something u own...

Don't know what year this was discontinued. It must have slipped by my fragrance radar back in the 70s. Glad you found it for yourself. It sounds very nice.

I have the aftershave (perhaps the only version available?), which I bought simply because it's from my birth year.

It's as badarun said. It's a very light citrus chypre (aftershave indeed), not much persistence, nothing out of the ordinary but enjoyable for activities like the gym or the like. Not really a proper perfume.

I remember getting this on ebay for very little.

Thanks for the info. So I need to start looking for the edc. I didn't see it around when I got my aftershave.

Bravas is still in production in many forms, from EDC to aftershave and hair tonic, sells in Japan on every corner like Gillette, and is easily available on sites like Rakuten
