    Default Opus VI Reformulation

    Hi All,
I am hoping someone can clarify to me if Opus VI was reformulated and how much.

I know about Epic, and i can confirm that Reflection, Dia, Memoir and Jubilation are safe to buy even with new magnetic caps.
For Reflection I can guarantee it is 100% the same, and for Dia Memoir and Jub i think they are pretty much the same if not 100% same.

So my question is basically regarding opus VI, i heard it is ruined and don't have opportunity to try new version. So all help and advice is welcome.

Also any other comment and info regarding current Amouage reformulations is welcome, can't find much info about this, everybody is talking about Epic and too little info about any of other Amouages.

    Thanks,
    Kind Regards

Purchased a bottle from fragrancenet last year. Will have to check to see when it was made. Great fragrance. Best in the Library Line IMO.

While I can't speak from experience I've read the numerous reports from VI lovers that it has been reformulated much like Epic was. The original is very powerful and long lasting stuff, the new one has been tamed.
    Current favorites:

rouj, that is what i read too. But the problem is I found only two or three people writing about this. I must consider that people may often be very disappointed even with not so big changes and then exaggerate everything.
I just want to find as many opinions as possible from people who came in touch with newer version because I'm thinking of buying it, but very likely will get new version if I do that.

Well my bottle is a 14 serial number on the bottom (purchased last year from fragrancenet), and it is just as strong as any sample I've had for the last few years...if that helps.

last two digits on batch code are 14? did I understand correct?
If that is the case it seems promising.
    Thanks a lot

What's up Djuka? The last two digits on the bottom of my bottle is 14. Very potent. You can smell the amber blast as soon as you take off the cap. Purchased from fragrancenet.

Thanks Really appreciate all your help guys.
Just if someone can clarify that last two numbers represent year it would be great. I know from somewhere that it does, but since I can't recall were I read about this I would like someone who is more experienced to confirm.

Hi Guys - I just bought a bottle of Opus VI online and have realised the colour of the perfume seems darker than the ones I have seen online e.g. on the selfridges website etc. Is it correct that there should be a batch number at the back of the box (bottom right) and at the same number at the bottom of the bottle? The last two numbers at the back of the box and bottom of the bottle are 15.
Would be grateful for any responses.

My bottle has batch number only at the bottle itself and plastic wrapping of a package(which I threw away)
It is general thought that two last digits of batch number is a year of manufacturing but no one seems to have any proof of that.
My bottle has last digits 12. So it is supposed to be early production.

How is the smell of your bottle? Is it strong and longlasting?

Yeh man, it is strong smelling and seems to last long! The thing is I bought a bottle of Jubilation from harrods in 2012, which used to last for ages and ages and bought a bottle again about two months ago from harrods and while still strong it doesn't seem to last for that long.
I just wasn't sure about my Opus VI as I bought it online and like I said the colour seems darker than the pictures they have advertised on websites. The batch numbers are printed at the bottom right of the box (the back) and at the bottom of the bottle. I'm assuming it's genuine. Where did you buy yours from? Thanks!

I bought my VI from Parfumaria, Netherlands. They only had one bottle at the time I bought it.

It is a really great scent. Although have to be careful not to overspray. Which is the case with all Amouages anyway.

Thanks - I have been overspraying it for the last few days. It lasts for ages and smells strong, but only if I overspray (maybe that's because I can't smell it on myself after a while). I do like the smell!

I am trying to hunt a pre-2015 bottle, would somebody please tell me precisely where to look for the batch code and then how to interpret that into year of production?
Life is too short to sample. Buy Blind | I am generally not interested in batch hunting or weak fragrances.

Top 10 in no particular order:

    Amouage - Epic Man
    Montale - Black Aoud
    Montale - Aoud Lime
Boucheron - Jaipur pour homme edp
Hermes - Terre d'Hermes pure parfum
Thierry Mugler - A Men Pure Malt
    Dior - Sauvage edt
    Rochas - Lui
    Davidoff - Cool Water
    Mancera - Cedrat Boise

Question - how does one look for an older bottle from the Opus line? Is there really no other way, than to see the code on the bottom? The caps don't seem to have visually changed, only that they are magnetic now.

Caps have visually changed. I have older bottles of IV, VI and VII. Also I have newer bottle of V.
Older bottles seem to have slightly taller cap. Not much but clearly visible. None of them is magnetic. In my knowledge there is no magnetic caps on Opus line. Correct me if I am wrong.

Will you post a photo of the comparison of the different version caps? I know the 3.4oz has a taller cap than the 1.7oz. Would be nice to see a side by side.
